Crowfall is incoming medieval fantasy sandbox PvP MMORPG successfully kickstarted in March this year, more than doubling it's initial goal of $800k. For more details - a brief intro (with updates to the video below & pictures) can be found here -
http://www.ign.com/wikis/crowfallGame Overview (mostly made before and during Kickstarter campaign in March):
http://www.youtube.com/wa...Te0w&feature=youtu.beSince Kickstarter, the game accumulated almost 100 000 (yes, that's five zeros) registered followers, one quarter of which are backers. As a consequence - it's total budget just broke $6M, the development team grew up to 25 members and players are already, since August, pre-alpha testing combat. This is impressive speed of development, having in mind that Kickstarter campaign ended in late March this year.
There is no non-disclosure agreement (which is very unusual for so early game development) so streams and records of pre-alpha sessions are already available. Of course, the footage is still quite rough, buggy and unoptimized - including only four (out of thirteen) archetypes with partial skills and small number of players (~50) fighting on very small test maps.
Some pre-alpha test footage:http://www.youtube.com/wa...ature=youtu.be&t=5467Confessor (ranged fire DPS) animation test:http://www.youtube.com/wa...G82I&feature=youtu.beGame development behind the scenes:http://www.youtube.com/wa...zVQM&feature=youtu.bePS Feel free to ask anything you want to know, including info about the potential problems and downsides (I'll be dropping by to check this). For what it's worth, I tried to summarize these here -
