Have this Phantom Hourglass DS Lite in my store and all the info I can find online suggest European only limited edition, however on the rear of this DS Lite suggests North America (I think, I'm definitely not an expert). Am I wrong and this is simply the PAL version or were there ever any North American releases of this?

It could be a case swap?

That's definitely a North American release, I had a friend who had one of those. Also, there's no such thing as an NTSC or PAL DS Lite since it's a handheld.

EDIT: Sure enough: http://www.rfgeneration.c...fo.php?ID=U-087-H-00024-A

The one apollo linked to is the Gold US system. (According to UPCs anyways)

EDIT image for confirmation: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N...s&hash=item414cb2ddda
Ebay is littered with them Wink
/EDIT

While the system is region free there are still differences as clearly visible on the back of yours and the back of the actual one from Europe.

To me the silvers even look different. The real one has more "metal flecks" in it.
Given the extreme rarity of the system i think it was just a home/fan made jobber.

EDIT 2
With a little looking it seems EVERY shell has a bootleg repro available currently or at some point on amazon

Thanks Izret. Not as exciting as I was hoping for, but still looks pretty cool Smiley

The shell is missing rubber pads over the screws on back, so it probably is a case swap of the top half. Looks nice, though.
