CGE Adventures arrived today in the mail. Making it the newest Atari 2600 game.

Retro Gaming Roundup, a podcast you should all be listening to, produced their very own Atari game. It was sold to early buyers on GameGavel.com  There will be later batches produced as well.

Only recently have I gotten into collecting the occasional.....I was going to use the word "homebrew".....game. But as I listen to podcasts in abundance at work, 5 of them yesterday alone, they are something I really enjoy. Retro Gaming Roundup is one of my favorites (http://www.retrogamingroundup.com/) It is a monthly, several hour long, podcast, which talks in depth about retro gaming as well as hosting great interviews with alumni of the gaming world.

The game uses many characters and icons from the podcast, lots of inside jokes I suppose, but is actually a really good game. I never was a big time player of VCS games but this is one of the best looking and playing ones I have seen. The guys behind this game really went all out on the production. I'm impressed.

A screen grab from the emulated game. ROM's were also sent to buyers of the game.

Being hunted by Scott.

Got to get that VIP pass from the custodian.

The powerful NES Zapper!

You can see in the first picture they really wanted to represent games of the past which came in boxes with fun items, or "Feelies." The dice, cd, and VIP pass are all great additions.

I think every podcast needs to produce their own game. What do you think?

Awesome. I think it is essential that every podcast should have to produce one. Especially one's with the initials of C.C. Wink

I'm glad they got their game out. I have been a listener of the show almost all the way back, and even had a chance to meet up with Scott and SoCal at CGE in 2010. Good guys.

I hope they produce the games for a while, as I wouldn't mind picking it up at some point.

Oh, and far as the show getting a game? I could only dream.

I can do that. I'm thinking of starting a, "what podcasts are you listening to thread." Sound like a good idea?

I listen to quite a few besides ours. Be happy to make recommendations if you start a thread, Nupoile.

It's funny, I have one of the actual original give-away CD's from CGE 2010. Lucky I got it before the thief struck.

Yeah, had dinner with the guys (minus UK Mike) and hit Pinball Hall of Fame. Great guys and was a lot of fun.
