If your interested in finding prototypes how do you go about locating and aquiring one. Im sure this is something on the mind of others BUT i have a hard time finding them for my area of collecting. Atari 2600 seems to be a bit more available, including even on EBAY.  Has anyone here found any prototypes for any systems. Id be interested in hearing how you aquired them and such.

I'd recommend going to forums that are specific for the system for the protos you want and posting a want to buy thread.

Look it up on ebay. There is usually something for sale in the way of proto's. Try searching NFR and demo as well.

This entire thread would be better posted on Atari Age if you want any Atari protos specifically, and Nintendo Age if you want those. I don't think many on here have protos they didn't get at one of those forums.

Try your best to track down some of the people who were involved in creating the games you're interested in. Thats gonna be your best lead in uncovering new ones me thinks. Shouldnt be as hard as it was in the past with google/facebook/etc.

True. I do try on there. I just brought it up here as a random topic. Talking about something different.

There are three places I would check for Prototypes:

1. Developers Themselves (Thanks Crabby)
2. Flea Markets/Conventions
3. Forums/Ebay (Assembler Games/Nintendo Age)

The only prototype I have left is a Super High Impact PCB. I bought it off Ebay in 2001:
