looking for Link's Awakening CIB on ebay and noticed some auctions have this clear support insert instead of the cardboard ones i'm used to seeing:

anyone know if these are official or are they third party meant to preserve the box better?

Think they're official, towards the end of the lifespan. Not sure though.

i know i've seen them for gameboy and other systems from japan too but i just wasn't sure if they were ever used in north america. also that i'm seeing them for the original release of Link's Awakening, when i've seen other auctions with the old cardboard supports. maybe they were just from different print runs...i've got a copy with one coming to me now, if it turns out that's not original i could always swap it with the supports from my Tetris Blast game. i'd rather have a zelda game fully original than tetris Wink
