I got a plug and play unit the other week that, as it turns out, is a pirate of another one.  It's not here in the database, of course.

I'm just not sure what to use in regards to type of release; obviously it's not an original release.  Should I click on "Alternate" release?

I'm afraid you are going to need to be a bit more specific also if you can link us to pics that would be helpful.
But generally speaking pirates are not in the database so if it is actually a pirate the answer will most likely be no.
