2 games down already! This time it's Sonic and Knuckles for genesis (which for those of you keeping track means i can put the Sega away for the rest of the summer xD)

Sonic and knuckles felt odd, and i couldn't put my finger on it until about half way through the game....when i saw a scene that looked sorta like this:

look familiar? ...how about when put near this:

it was at this point that i realized i was no longer playing a sonic game....just a cheap mario ripoff. The speed that defined the games was minimal, and twitchy platforming sections dominated the game. I was really hoping that after my disappointing experience with sonic 3 (read it here:http://www.rfgeneration.c...-NeoMagicwarrior-1798.php) that the game would return to its roots....*sigh*

That isn't to say the game was all bad. The controls were tighter than they had ever been, and some of the music was great (even though some of it was horrible).

Eventually, i'll have to go back through with knuckles and see if it is any more enjoyable that way, but for now i'll call it done!

so where am I at?

Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
Borderlands
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Rage
Saints Row Diamond 2-Pack
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

Pokemon Snap
Legend of Zelda, The: The Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
Faxanadu
Super C
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project
Donkey Kong Country
Star Fox
Super Mario World
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
Pikmin
Punch-Out!!
Contra: Hard Corps
Sonic & Knuckles
Legend of Dragoon, The
Star Wars: Rebel Assault II
Bully
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Ace Combat 04 Shattered Skies

I may grab ace combat this afternoon to start it up...eventually i'll finish COD tonight. The GF and I are 3/4 through borderlands...and having a blast doing so (think im gonna make her help on all the co-op games!)

Till next time!

I've always felt that Mario games were faster feeling than Sonic games. After the 1st or second level of all the Genesis Sonic games there were barely any streches you could game much speed. I still enjoyed 3 and S&K though. Some of the music was really good in those titles.

I always thought Knuckles was at his best when you played him in Sonic 2.

"You got your lock-on technology in my blast processing!"

"Well, you got your blast processing in my lock-on technology!"

Two great gimmicky marketing slogans that play great together!

Hmmm... now I'm hankerin' for Reese's peanut butter cups for some reason.

brb...
