Trivia
The Charging Station with DualShock 4 Charging Adapters for the PlayStation 4 was a repurposed version of the PlayStation Move Charging Station that was initially released for the PlayStation 3.
The Charging Station came in a blue cardboard outer box that contained both the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Move Charging Station (in the retail box, no less) as well as an unmarked white box that contained the DualShock 4 charging adapters. These adapters connected to the DualShock 4's USB port and would then be slotted into the PlayStation Move Charging Station in order to charge the controllers.
The PlayStation 4 is not backwards compatible with PlayStation 3 games and the PlayStation VR (which does utilize Sony's Move controllers that were released for the PlayStation 3) didn't release until 2016, which makes this piece of hardware appear to be a simple way for Sony to clear out existing old-stock inventory from the PlayStation 3 while fulfilling the need for an official charging dock solution.
