Title: War Movie
Post by: soldierz_1 on August 01, 2005, 02:06:03 PM
What's up guys?  Has anyone watched Gunner Palace yet?  It's a documentary movie about American soldiers in Iraq.  I watched it this weekend.  It's really good.  It has some pretty good action/battle scenes.  The movie's also really funny.  Anyway, if anyone's seen it, hit me up.  I'm always down to chat.

I have not seen it yet.  Can you tell me anything more about it?  What is the focus of the movie?  i.e. The missions from a political standpoint, or the personal experiences of the soldiers, or something else?  Also, when did it come out?

Well, the focus of the movie is an American platoon of soldiers that take over Gunner Palace, one of Sadam Hussein's palaces.  Anyway, what's cool about it is that it has no political standpoint.  The movie focuses on the personal experiences of the soldiers.  It focuses on what they go through on a daily basis.  Their missions, their personal lives, how they get along with each other....all that stuff.  I remember seeing it in theaters a few months back, but it's out on dvd now.  The dvd came out last month I think.  Anyway, here's the site.  It has a lot of info on the movie.
