It's been a while, hasn't it? I didn't realize until just now that I didn't do a single one of these in July. But, there is a reason for my absence. You see, with that last big haul, I simply had to take a break from hunting. I didn't have room to sort any new treasure and really didn't have any money to buy new treasure anyway. While I still need to work on the money part of it, I have made enough room to start buying again, so I started going to garage sales again this weekend. I went for a full day Friday, but couldn't this Saturday because I had a family reunion to go to. Anyway, on to the treasures. I actually bought the items in these pictures back in May, but they got lost in the mix and I forgot about them until I started moving images from my old laptop back to my good one after getting it fixed. I'm pretty sure I got them at the flea market, but I can't remember what I paid for them. I'm sure it wasn't a lot though.
I got these at the flea market a couple weeks ago from one of my regular sellers. He was asking $3 each on them, but my price was $25 for them all. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I figured this many games that weren't dupes for me at once was a good enough. So I paid the $25 for them.
I picked these up the same day, but a different flea market. I almost didn't even ask about them because it was an old guy with overpriced junk, but I figured it would be worth a good laugh to see what ridiculous price he wanted for them. So I asked about the Genesis and SNES games, and he said "$1 for both, and I'll throw in the other one for free". I grabbed all three and gave him the dollar. Super Hydlide is CIB and in great shape, WeaponLord is an ex-rental with the stickers to prove it and the box is cut up to fit in the clam-shell case. And I didn't realize it until I got home, but True Crime is actually still sealed.
Super mega sweet haul, right? Not quite, the boxes are all empty except for the manuals, none have the games. Still a pretty good little lot though, I actually needed all but one of the boxes. My dad picked this up for me a couple weeks ago at a garage sale while I was taking a break. Like with most of the stuff he gets for me, he won't give me a straight answer as to what they cost, so he just doesn't get paid back for them.
These were from another lot my dad bought while solo saling. I kept these because they were the only ones I needed, and he sold the rest to a guy at the flea market for a small profit, so it was a win-win for both of us.
The same day at the flea market my dad sold those extra games, I bought these from the same seller. I paid $8 for them all, not bad for four more N64 games.
I picked these up from one of the first sales I went to after my break. I first saw the Mario Kart's controller on the back of a table and thought it was a 3rd party GCN controller, but as I made my way over to it, I spotted the 14" Mario statue. I thought for sure it would be like $20, but I knew I had to have it. Luckily, it was marked at only $2. So I grabbed it and went back to the controller, which I notice is sitting next to the Mario Kart RC car, marked $1. So I took all three and tried to get them for $2. But the RC Kart wasn't theirs, so they could go any lower on either for some reason. Still, $3 was an awesome price. The Mario statue is made to hold a DS, but I know he'll be holding onto my collection list.
I picked these CIB beauties for $4. The 360 game was marked $4 and the PS1 games were $0.25 each, so I offered $4 for everything, and much to my surprise, the woman had to really think about that, like I was getting away with murder by saving $0.75. If she had said no to my offer, I would have paid with a twenty, just to make her make change. They had a few more PS1 games, but most were missing the discs! I probably should have picked up a couple of the boxes/manuals though.
Not much here, I paid asking price, $0.25 on this one. They had three more for the same price, but they were Lizzie McGuire and other tween games. And I just couldn't bring myself to buy them.
And finally, this week's flea market sole purchase. I picked this up for $1. It's always fun finding $1 games that I don't already have. I know Marriott_Guy made me that awesome "collection stats" table and I've only used it once this year, but since my laptop crashed and I lost my collection list/official count, I haven't been putting it up. I've given up on trying to finish that list anytime this year, but I figured I can at least list my total expenditures and income. Now, when my laptop crashed, I lost my original list of what I bought and what I sold, but I was able to recreate a list based on my blog posts and things like PM's and eBay records. But, at the time I recreated the list, I had about $200 total profit less than I had reported in the last THC, so either I was high then, or I'm low now. | This Installment | This Year | Amount Spent | $43.25 | $461.75 | Amount Spent on Shipping for Trades | $0.00 | $28.33 | Amount Received from Selling | $0.00 | $366.26 | Profit | -$43.25 | -$123.82 |

Damn, the nice hauls just keep on coming!

$2 for the Mario Statue is killer. I have the same one. It's a DS holder that was made for the original DS. Not sure if the DS Lite fits on it very well.
|
As always, I'm amazed at what you guys can find outside of specialty shops.
|
@bickman2k: I love it so much, it's a much better quality than one might expect. I would have never figured out it was a DS holder if the price sticker hadn't said "DS holder" on it, at least until you told me. And it does hold a DS Lite perfectly. My collection list also fits nicely.

Awesome hauls. IMO boxes/manuals were the best deal.
BTW your Splinter Cell Double Agent is a variant.

Nice haul as always. I have to wonder, are those really the original holders for Bible Adventures and King of Kings? I once had a bible-thumping friend of mine try to push some of those Color Dreams games on me, but I passed because I knew the games would suck. Wish I wouldn't have, but I wasn't into collecting at the time.
Nice on the Super Advantage, even if it's only a box.

@Izret101: I didn't even notice that. I guess I'll have to dig it back out so I scan it and add it to the DB now.
@bombatomba: I wondered about the sleeves too, it seems like each title would have had its own sleeve, but they're not marked as to which title they belong to. I think I have the right one for Bible Adventures though, because the sleeve and the cart label have an Ark on them.

@ Mike I don't know if it was a Best Buy exclusive or just the original print run/shipment that had the car giveaway.

I dont see how you find this much stuff week after week...how many garage sales do you hit up on average?
|
@ganonbanned: A lot. On average, we generally start at 8 and go to 1 or 2 every Friday and Saturday. Some days are shorter and some are longer. I've tried counting, but always lose track after 5 or 10, but I'd say somewhere between 50-100 for the weekend. Plus, the flea market has several hundred vendors, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to find something there.
