K-19: The Widowmaker - 2002 - C

Submarine movie, the usual drama although there wasn't any actual fighting in this movie. I never feel comfortable watching submarine movies and was glad that it was over Tongue Submarines give me the creeps, I'd feel trapped in a thing like that.

watched tonight...

Slacker:  The Criterion Collection - (1991) - F

Reason for score -- i realize it was made on a budget....but i think they wasted their money.....just a bunch of scenes thrown together aimlessly....

Mr. Deeds - (2002)  - B

It's a remake of the 1936 comedy "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town". I haven't seen the original so I can't compare.
However, I enjoyed this movie, it was a fun, feel-good movie and I like this type of movies Tongue

Steve Buscemi and John Turturro had minor roles in the movie, thought they were great.

Ocean's Eleven - (2001) - B+

Not a spectacular plot but an entertaining movie nontheless with its overflow of big-named actors.

Escape from Alcatraz - (1979) - B

Clint Eastwood movie, was good.

just watched....

Cléo From 5 To 7:  The Criterion Collection - (1962) - A-

Reason for score -- sort of an abrupt ending, but i thought it was a good movie....interesting that it was kept real time, like how the show 24 is filmed....good concept...

Just watched two DVRed episodes of Gurren Lagann. The makers of Gainex have to on something wonderful to keep making stuff like that.

Matchstick Men - (2003) - B+

I've seen this movie before and although it's still fun to watch you do miss the "surprise-effect" at the end.

Down With Love - (2003) - A

Thought it was going to be a lame chick-flick but I enjoyed it alot.

Lost In Translation - (2003) - A+

This movie is fantastic and Bill Murray's performance stands out.

Great westerns, I must say.

Then you'd like A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More which are part of the "Man with No Name Trilogy with Good Bad Ugly. Smiley

Ace Ventura:  Pet Detective (Laserdisc) - (1994) - B-

Reason for score -- just an average pointless comedy....fun to waste time with though...
