Watched "The Island" last night. Was it inspried from a foreign film? Though I wasn't a fan of it being drawn out over and over or the action packed scenes, I did enjoy some questions it brings about...humanity, souls, death, religion, ethics, technology/science.

Yea it was an pretty good movie.

I think it would have done better if it came out a few years ago though.
It didn't realy bring anything new to the table.

Although i believe it was a remake anyways.

I thought the Island looked like a Matrix rip, but I never heard anyone say so and I never saw it.

Duh, I was thinking of THX 1138 by Lucas. See the similarities? I suppose The Island could be a cross between that and a few other films.

No i was wrong the island was not a direct remake.
The checked IMDB and the Islad movies all had different concepts.

False alarm.

EDIT
I am watching this show about video games on PBS from 12 to 2 am.

I missed the one that started at 9 so hopefully i can stay awake thru the whole thing.

I watched "Everything is Illuminated" last night. It was great for an off the wall pick, literally. I wasn't even aware it existed. I suggest it to those of you who like a thought provoking film.

Anyone else see it?
