went to the movies and saw wanted, very good action movie.

I saw that last week. It was better than I expected it to be, considering I don't really care for McAvoy or Jolie, nor do I care much for martial arts/gun kata movies.

Seriously? I thought it was garbage. It's seemed to have been written by a pot smoking energy drink junkie that had never fired a weapon--or read a screenplay for that matter--before. The acting was good except for McAvoy, who seemed a hollow shell. The action was sort of cool but it was presented in such a serious manner that I found it unbearable. Shoot 'em Up, for example, had similar crazy action scenes; but it didn't try to pass itself off as serious.

I just said it was better than I expected it to be Smiley I went in expecting to hate it, and I didn't. I thought McAvoy was terrible - whiny and repetitive. And I agree about the way the action was presented, and the way they 'received' their orders? Balogna. Do better.

I saw Vantage Point the other day. It had more twists and turns than a box social.

watched today....

The Chronicles Of Riddick:  Pitch Black (112 Minute Unrated Director's Cut):  Riddick Trilogy - The Franchise Collection - (2000) - C-

Reason for score -- I never really liked this movie at all....it is actually the only movie I ever walked out early on in a theater.

The Chronicles Of Riddick:  Dark Fury:  Riddick Trilogy - The Franchise Collection - (2004) - B

Reason for score -- seems to tie the 2 live action movies together....the second of which i thought was good, but had some holes...

As much as I dislike Vin Diesel, I actually enjoyed the Riddick Trilogy quite a bit. Not that anyone probably cares Smiley

I just popped in the original War of the Worlds. I've really been interested in classic Sci-Fi lately.

It's pretty good. Much better than the remake. Ugh. That was garbage.

Agreed. The War of the Worlds story is pretty contrived already, but damn if Spielberg didn't manage to make it even more so.

Been watching Cowboy Bebop over and over.

watched last night...

Story Of A Prostitute:  The Criterion Collection - (1965) - B-

Reason for score -- i realize it's an older movie, but it just seemed played out and very predictable....wasn't terrible, just not amazing by any means....

The Day the Earth Stood Still on AMC. One of my favorites.

edit: I was just going to celebrate the fact that they hadn't wrecked the tradition of this movie by making a horrible remake. Turns out one is going to be released in December of this year starring - that's right - Keanu Reeves as Klaatu. They made a good decision casting Jennifer Connelly, and Jaden Smith was good in 'The Pursuit of Happiness.' We'll see how it turns out...
