Okay, I am having a serious problem regarding variations. Until recently, I've been adding European releases of certain games as their own entry, but as of right now, I am adding European versions as variations of US games or Japanese games, since that's what they're basically are: the same game, only in a different region.
Most Sega CD games, for example, are being listed that way on this site, so I wanted to make several European games variations of their worldwide counterparts (i.e. The Story of Thor as the European equivalent of Beyond Oasis, and so on). And yet whenever I am trying to do this, it's not working properly. Why? I am always double-checking the variation ID, so I doubt that's the problem. Can anyone provide some help here?

There has been an issue where old versions of files were uploaded to the site in the server move a while back. Could you be a bit more specific on what you're doing? Is this error occurring during the addition of a variation using 'Add Games Variation', or is it happening when you're trying to tie the game via a game edit? What does the script say? Any specifics on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Well, adding a "game variation" itself is not a problem at all, it works just fine, even switching regions.
The problem I am having, however, occurs whenever I'm trying to enter the ID of an existing entry under "variation tie-in" of another entry (i.e. entering the ID of the American Phantasy Star IV in the variation-tie-in field of the European Phantasy Star IV).  Well, entering the ID works, and I can easily submit the changes made to the entry, but for some reason, the variation tie-in is gone after the submission has been greenlighted. Any ideas what the problem could be? Or could it be that the creation of a variation just doesn't get an approval?

Hmm. I was able to do it through a submission. I bet its a problem with someone forgetting to click the "I approve this submission" box. Anyways, hopefully we can keep that from happening, so that your variation ties can be approved.

Well jumping on my high horse, Europe versions of games aren’t Just variations they are there own specific region, if they were variations then every other game would be a variation in any country that is wasn’t developed in, which really is, stupid.

As far as I know there are 5 main regions (Japan, North America, Europe, Australia and Brazil) sometimes the game will be exactly the same other times totally different either way I see hem as distinct versions not merely variations
