I can't play any of my downloaded videos under the "All Videos" tab now after the update.  I see mixed up text, and a big "!" image next to the entry.  Some videos are properly titled, but also cannot be played.

The error message recieved states:
Quote
Unplayable Content
Can't play this content because it may not be supported.  For more info, go to
www.xbox.com/support

Status code: 69-80070057

All my videos are still there, are properly listed, and can be watched under each of their respective tabs.  Movies, TV Shows, Game Videos, etc.

Did this update botch anyone else's video playback?

Haven't gotten the fall update yet. I'll let you know.

In the meantime, I'd call xbox live support. You're probably not the only one experiencing the issue.

Nevermind, it seems to have fixed itself.

The new interface is nice though.  It groups videos and trailers by game.  When there are over a dozen videos for Halo 3, it helps.

I probably should try this before mentioning it:

If you put an image in the same directory with the same file name as the video or album you want, it should show up on the console next to the video or song. Needs to be a small file size, I think.

i.e. "video1.wmv" and "video1.jpg"

Edit: never mind, it;s not working. Hrmph.

Most of the update is just useless crap. Divx/Xvid support sucks badly, the very small list of containers it supports does not represent even a fraction of the divx/xvid usage. So hit or miss, trial and error, you may as well keep converting the vids because it's like a lottery as to whether it'll recognize it or not.

On the other hand, the menus and overall speed of the dashboard has been dramatically improved, no more menu lag. That alone is worth the update, regardless of the other garbage.

Speaking of the fall update:

Notice this addition?

"Added support for Audio Mute/Unmute for video ads."

It turns out this doesn't work for streaming over the network. It's for using external hard drives and iPods.

There aren't any problems with the fall update at all. It does everything they say it does.....in the most bare, featureless way possible. Roll Eyes

I'm not really complaining persay. I own a 360 for gaming and have no use for the majority of it's features, but the one feature outside gaming that interested me and that may have been useful comes with stipulations that limits it's usefulness.

Oh well, could be worse. I could be using the PSN and have no features of any kind, limited or otherwise. Wink
