well the word 'divorce' has come up between the wife and i. and for moving expenses and also the fact that i have damn too much to move, i have no other choice but to sell parts of my collection. its sad but i can always accumulate it again. i am not sure what parts i am going to sell but any offers will be considered. our relationship has been on the fritz for a while anyways and i am just getting sick and tired of the bullshit. so benefit from my misfortune.

thanks clint. i will remain active in this forum. i am not going to sell all of it. just enough to get me on my feet. sadly my main 2 money makers are the dreamcast and the turbografx 16, my 2 favorite systems. honestly i dont want to sell any of it but what i have accumulated is too much to move along with my other crap. i just should have never got married.

Bogus... I feel for ya, as you can tell by me considering selling my Saturn collection for a similar reason before meeting back up with Liz (hardcore old skool gamer like myself), and becoming an item this time round.

My recommendation is, if you have to sell check eBay 1st, and online stores. Only sell what you know you can definitely replace without too much difficulty.

the way things are going now is she is acting all nice. the night she tells me she wants me out by january i call my mom and she overhears me talking about diorce and moving to columbus. well since that she's been acting all nice and buying me shit. now this has happened 2 times before and things went back to the way they were in like 2 weeks to a month. so this time i am preparing myslef for whatever. there is a camper van for sale for $900. its got a fridge, stove, sink, bed, and tons of cabinet space. plus there are outlets and counter space for a tv and microwave. well worst case senerio i just live in a van down by the river (long live chris farley). there is enough cabinet space for my shit and my furniture i can always put in a storage. so either way i am prepared to bal before world war 3. a small price to pay, losing some good games, but my freedom is prepared for whatever comes my way.

I hope everything works out for you man. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting a game collection in storage but what about having your mom hold it for you? sell the furniture instead.

thanks den.
well as with my other post in this thread i am workingon getting that camper van for the just incase. besides i need it to travle to iowa to see my folks who moved there last year so i can see their house and what not. this thing has a bed, stove, fridge, tons of cabinet space, sink, electric outlets, etc. if this divorce happens i'll have a ghetto place to live til i find a place.
so stuff is on sale. i have my tg-16/cd/express/all hookups and games too on ebay in one lot. user name ween_rocks also look through my list. as long as it isnt nes, genesis, 32x, and pico then we can do a deal.
i have good refrences on here.

Sucks to hear about this, sometimes divorce is for the best, but I also want to add a bit of wordly advice depending on your answers to some personal questions. Other times divorce can just be a perceved easy way out, and there's some things you should consider before the 2 of you really take that step. Not trying to talk you out of it, but some things you should think of before you commit to it, I've seen friends get divorced and it can get uglier than both parties involved thought.

1)How long have you been married?
If you haven't been married long. The first year of marriage is often the hardest believe or not. You are really just learning what it means to be in a union and have to make descisions as a team. You should always examine what's gone wrong since you decided to get married. Can you fix these problems if you both work at it?

2)Have you tried counsoling?
It can be embarrassing to have to get help with personal problems, but sometimes an objective third party can really give you perspective and help you patch things up with each other.

3)If you both are gonna go through with it make sure you research your state laws. Many States nowadays are 50/50 of marital assets reguardless of fault. This means what ever you have bought since the date of you marriage will be halved 50/50. If this is the case in your state, then any games, or if you buy that camper would be included. Granted same thing goes for her and anything she has purchased. Depending on the state also any group debts or bank accounts fall under the same clause. You could inherit debt, as well as any wealth. Sometimes money/debt from before the marriage can be excluded as long as it is kept seperate, but if combined after the marriage will become marital assets.

4)Even if you 2 decide that you are going to divorce and think you're gonna be civil and just nicely divide you assets, be prepared for change, as I've seen proccedings get ugly quick of little things.

5) most importanty, try and remember why you both got married in the first place, can you get back to the feelings you had for each other? Are you both willing to try? I have no personal thing against divorce, I've had friends who have had trouble before and worked things out, and I've had friends who have gotten divorce, and in their situations both were the best choice, but I'll tell you this divorce is not easy, and make sure you are both sure that's what you want, as the actual process can be both painful emotionally and finacially.

With that good luck to you whatever happens, and good luck with your auctions.
