I was just putting games into genres, when I ran into Jonah lomah rugby. I was thinking about putting it in the same category as madden and other nhl games. Would this be very wrong? Would this be an insult to rugby and american football players all over the world?

in short: What's the difference between these two?

Rugby is tougher in my opinion but i dont think it would really insult anyone. The truth though is they are similair in many ways but people consider them very different like baseball and cricket if that makes sense to you.

I don't see anything wrong with that.  I see Rugby as Soccer (sorry everyone outside of North America) where you don't use your feet and are allowed to pummel the shit out of each other.  You pretty much play straight through unless somebody scores or a penalty is scored.

American football is more structured and is more strategy based.  Think of it as hyper violent chess.  Also, fat people are encouraged to play it.  I heard a stat one time that in a 60 minute football game, you actually only play for 8 minutes or something like that.  They plays only take about 8 seconds, and you have up to 35 seconds before you start your next play.

So.... what is the conclusion?

Should I put Rugby in the 'related games' section of an American football game or not?

Ummm fuck you.
Just because everyone in my pic is over or just under 6 foot makes me a midget... or is it because i am 5 4?
I think the second one might be a better guess but that pic makes me look much shorter than i really am.

I found the last two posts hi-larious.

But, yeah, I think it would be fair to label American football and Rugby in the same genre.  Same game different rules.

@izret, I actually think that the lineman have tougher jobs.  Not only are they expected to slam into each other at full speed, but they are also supposed to out wrestle thier opponent.  I played both D-line and fullback in high school, and I found line much more tiring.  Of course that could be because I thought I was stronger than everyone I went up against.

Small Man, Big Mouth Lyrics
by Minor Threat

Compete, compete, do it for the boys
Empty barrels make the most noise
You're always on the move
You've always got something to prove

What the fuck are you fighting for?
Is it becuse you're five foot four?
You better be happy with what you've got
You'll never get any more

You laugh at a man when he tries
You're trying to make up for your size
To you life is a rivalry
Keep a step ahead of me

Small man, big mouth

Anyways, I'lll put them together then. It's not like there's a huge amount of rugby games.

A search for the word rugby shows 2 games. Of course there are also rugby games without rugby in the title. But it won't be much.

And the lyrics are from a song by minor threat.
