i dont really use cheat codes.....i wont say i havent ever, but it is very rare that i do....when i do, it is usually just for fun to mess around in god mode or something like that, or a game that i am fed up with but want to get through to the end, so ill just not care and cheat....but, for at least 99% of the time i dont cheat.....using guides is another story...i do that about 5-10% of the time....

I voted 50% because I have gotten walkthru's for a couple of games lately that my 8 year old has been playing.  I use them to give him some hints if he gets stuck.

I voted 25% I hardly use walkthroughs or cheats.  I'll only use cheats when I'm totally bored with a game but still want to beat.  I'll use walkthroughs after I beat the game or section just to make sure I have gotten everything or to go 100%.  Games are too damn long nowadays!

I use guides for RPG's to get all of the hidden items, but thats about it.  The only time I've used a cheat code in the past 5 years was on Guitar Hero, and that was so I could see what Bark at the Moon was like on expert.

25%. I usually try to tough things out, because that's what video games are meant for. When it comes to games like Contra 3: The Alien Wars, though, a few cheats here and there don't hurt.

I would say about 25%.  I won't use a cheat until I have beaten the game or just want to run around and have fun (like kill the cyberdemon with a chainsaw... for 45 minutes).  As for walkthroughs, I try to beat the game once then go back through with the guide to get everything and make it 100%.  Or if I'm really stuck (trying to get out of the ship graveyard in FF5).

I still remember all the cool shit from Goldeneye for the N64.  I would sit down and have a field day with that game.

That's true, that game had some very addictive cheats Wink
