I think it would be beneficial to have "Unlicensed" as a release type. Also "Code Card" as a media type for 360/PS3/PS4/Switch/PC/Xbone. Sonic Mania CE prompted me to ask about this.

What do the people think?

I can see code card, but probably not unlicensed. I want to say that the discussion has come up on unlicensed before, but don't quote me.

Unlicensed would probably be more suitable as a completely separate field. After all many unlicensed games have multiple variations themselves.  It would be cool then if "hide unlicensed" was a search option. I know many people go for complete licensed sets.

Could also add non-retail and online only to that field maybe  too (non-retail is eg NWC, online only is eg limited run).

Just food for thought for the powers that be

As for code card - yes please! There seems to be a lot of confusion between the download selection against e.g. PS3 and PSN as a separate console

I think of the difference as Download against a console itself as Download code in a physical box. Whereas PSN (or similar) would then be for completely digital download. Not sure what the official policy is on this though if there is one
