The LEGO franchise has been flooding the market with dozens of intellectual properties since the sixth generation. These games have earned a reputation for being fun, and especially for being great torch-bearers for the long lost art of couch co-op gaming. We're going to break our unwritten rule of jumping into sequels before playing their predecessors, but LEGO Batman 2 has a reputation for being a huge leap in quality over the first game. The game is available affordably on a plethora of consoles, including handhelds, so there's no reason not to don the cape and cowl with us!

Pretty sure I spotted this in a clearance bin a few days ago at Walmart, if it's still there I'll pick it up.

Coincidently, I've actually been playing this with my brother on the Wii U when he visits. We are near the end but I don't think he will be down again until after this play through is over. We will then go on to 100% it too.

I will add my thoughts on the game sometime in the month however. Spoiler alert - I like it :-)

I might be mistaken, but I believe this is the first LEGO game with voice acting?

Voice acting that wasn't gibberish, yes.

No. LEGO Island was the first, followed by:
  • LEGO Chess
  • LEGO Creator
  • LEGOLAND
  • LEGO Friends
  • LEGO Rock Raiders
  • LEGO My Style: Kindergarten/Preschool
  • LEGO Alpha Team
  • LEGO Stunt Rally
  • LEGO Island 2
  • LEGO Creator: Harry Potter
  • LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts
  • LEGO Drome Racers
  • Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension
  • Bionicle: The Game.
I think I'm missing a couple more, but LEGO Batman 2 was nowhere near the first one. Tongue

@Mumboking I think it was implied that we were referring to the modern, licensed, Traveler's Tales developed LEGO games, and the nature of their voice acting. All that older stuff is in its own category, and LEGO Batman 2 was in fact noteworthy at the time of its release for having a full script for the voice actors.

I'll sign up for this. I just picked up a bundle of all three of them on Steam for cheap.

Welcome everyone, I'll be putting up checkpoints soon, but basically there are 15 story missions so you can figure it out.

I have beaten the 360 version as well as the DS version. The differences are very interesting but one major one is that there are actually only 10 missions in the DS version. I'm curious how the Vita version plays. I feel it could be a port of the console version or an up-res'ed version of the DS version.

Had I not beat the campaign in this game earlier in the year, I would have joined, but now I can work on something else in my backlog  Smiley
