Love the site. Love the podcast.

An amazing PS1 find from my Goodwill.  I frequent this store every day after work.  I usually walk out of this place empty handed but not today.

A mini score for me from the thrift shops for $3. Seems NES is making a bit of a comeback around my area.

Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing (NES)
Eliminator Boat Duel (NES)
Vigilante 8 (GBC)

I think I'm done ordering off Amazon for a while.

My Namco Pac-Man came in today.

Strangely, it was a black cartridge and said TENGEN on it.

DAMN IT! That's 3 in 2 weeks!  UGHHHHHH  grrr

lol, I've never been a fan of Amazon for used items because of just what you are experiencing now. For new stuff it can be great, but the used sellers always seem to suck.

As an Amazon marketplace seller, I do my damnedest to avoid such situations with buyers. I'll give as extensive a description of the product as possible, noting condition, what components are included, and what version I'm selling. If only more sellers would do that...

Anyhoo: I finally got on a bit of a hot streak. I picked up a few pieces of portable hardware:

- Titanium DS Heavy, $14.99
- Cobalt GBA SP with Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy cart, $14.99 $11.99: Spyro.... Spyro... why does that name sound familiar?
- another Cobalt GBA SP, $9.99

BTW the top of one GBA had these cute little stickers on it...

...which leads me to believe that ixtaileddemonfox owned it at one time.  Roll Eyes

Got a few games, too:

- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64), $1.99
- 007 GoldenEye (N64), $1.99
- Blinx the Time Sweeper (CIB) (XBox), $3.99 I wasn't charged for this; it was thrown in with a couple other purchases.

Aaaand I picked up the Prima Mario Kart 7 strat guide for just $0.29. I shoulda paid more, but the clerk thought it was a magazine, rather than a proper book, and charged me accordingly. Had they sold it as a book, I woulda paid somewhere between $2 to $3 instead...

@Johnny Nintendo: Nice grabs on some tough to find NES titles.

@NoEverydayJoe: Welcome to the site, and those are some really nice PS1 grabs there. Goodwill is usually really dry for me, so it is cool to see people still making scores there.

So last week I stopped into my local retro store (Game Xchange). I'm there at least once a week, and the guys there really treat me very well. They also have reasonable prices, and I've made a lot of purchases there and will happily continue to. They've got a great attitude and understand how to treat people well and not price gouge to keep people coming back in. When I bought Chrono Trigger there last week, they mentioned that they may have a very desirable item for me. They hadn't priced it yet so they told me to keep checking in and that I would get first crack at it. So today I dropped by after work and this happened:

Price? A very fair $70. Now if I can just run across a well priced Super Mario RPG and Super Punch Out...

^ Duke, thats friggin' awesome. I'm not much of an RPG guy but that game is so weird that I really want one for myself. I love games with a comedy aspect to them.

What would you consider to be a good price on Super Mario RPG?

If I ran into another copy for $15 or less I would grab it instantly. $20 if its in very nice condition and could potentially replace the one I already have. Otherwise I would trade/sell it.

Was a busy week when I was not working, but not really regarding pickups for myself.  I pulled some hair out replacing the top screen on a DS Lite for my nephew and grabbed him some games.  (I mention them a lot on here, because I have 8 nephews and a niece, and their uncle spoils them with toys and games.)  I bought and shipped Barracuda's Game Gear and games.  I shipped Duke my Game Boy Micro pickup.  And with purchasing a new furnace for the house before the snow sticks and a new Windows 8 laptop for self, I wasn't much the consumer otherwise.  But I did make a couple of stops.

The thrift store had little for video games, but these were cool.  Batman Begins Shadow Assault board game CIB $3, Leapster Cars (of course, not for me to play) $1, Star Wars Ewoks cartoon VHS $1, Star Trek 25th Anniversary CD-ROM $2, Atari Paddle Plug & Play $3.

And when I stopped at the Play-n-Trade to grab said Game Gear the other night, someone was mentioning to the guys that he REALLY wished they had a copy of Ocarina of Time in so he could play it again.  I had an extra copy, so I did the hobby good by stopping in tonight and trading it in - though not for what I could have made on eBay or as trade bait.  Essentially I ended up using the credit for a Banjo Kazooie, but I feel good that the guy can come pick up his game and I allowed the store to reap the benefit and gain a fan.  I also picked up the hardbound Collector's Edition Phantom Hourglass guide with map and prologue for $7.  It was tagged at $14, but the guys did me good once again.

My rogue pickup at Fred Meyer was too cool to pass on - The 2012 Hot Wheels ATARI collection.  As a child of the 80's, the idea of spending over $4 per Hot Wheels car seems outrageous but they're f'n ATARI, Man!

Those hot wheels are awesome. I may have to look around town for those. The only hard part will be convincing my son that they are for daddy.
