"While industry watchers debated which next-gen console was going to win the sales war this holiday season, Nintendo's DS walked away with the crown for all gaming hardware. The DS sold 1.6 million units in the US in December, ending an already positive year for the system with a bang."




The gaming giant also unveiled the latest release schedule for DS games through March.

I was sceptical of the DS' future when it initially came out as it wasn't very warmly received here in Australia. The Advance would go on selling a lot more units and even getting a lot more new releases while the DS had to share a small part of the Advance section in shops.

When the PSP came out, stores loved it, and we got to see it's section eat up other sections with one store cutting it's PC section in half so the PSP could use the rest.

Now however despite it's slow start, it looks like things are finally falling into place.
