Right now I keep my loose games in a wicker basket on the floor in my room, which is carpet, and I keep a towel on top of the basket. Should I quit doing this or be concerned?
My carpet isn't a shag one, but still I don't want all of my babies to die on me...

I wouldn't worry about it because carts are not made out of metal so you wouldn't shock the carts.

I intern at the local Urban Mission, and they have a store which is like the Salvation Army, and they have a few decent shelves. I have one, but it holds my Sega Saturn games...

You should have nothing to worry about, like Tynstar said they aren't metal.
