So over on Retro USB they are promoting the "first NES in production game in 12 years", Airball. I guess this guy bought the rights to this game from Tengen and has released it. Does this count as an official release? Should it get a page on the Database? Interested in everyones opinions.

I was wondering the same thing a little bit ago when I read about it from DP.
I'd say that it shouldn't be considered an official release.  I don't really have a reason, it just doesn't seem right.  But if it does become considered to be just a regular NES game, then it sure will be rare as I doubt RetroUSB could produce them in very large quantities very quickly.

Same thing.

IMO database worthy.

I don't think it should as I don't think the rights were bought for this game.  This is, as far as I know, simply a reproduction of one of the Airball prototypes found in recent years, and with a nice box and manual to make it more appealing.  Sudoku, on the other hand, should probably receive its own page as that game is 100% original (but then again, there's the grey cart tin version, gold cart version, and three different RetroUSB label variants of the blue cart version....5 versions in total!).

If it is a repro of a proto then no. If they did get the rights to it and release it then it could be added as a homebrew.

I know we are adding them into the database over at NintendoAGE as soon as we finish with the long awaited upgrade.  He didn't buy the rights but since it comes with a manual/box I would say count it.

If nothing else it could be included in Unreleased/proto section if you have one.  If not a new project for someone to start up  nod  Still very cool no matter how you classify it.

They could have it listed reproduction, not homebrew or prototype.
