Title: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Cryptid Collector on July 03, 2012, 08:51:51 PM My first "issue" began at Aarons rental. For two months somebody's apparently been putting in a half payment when my mom pays on the dryer, and pocketing the other half. Oh, but the manager fixed it because she threatened to return it and he wants her money to damn bad to let that happen. On top of that, her contract was discounted by the only guy there that wasn't a plothole, and now he's gone and they're trying to bump it back up to full price.
Now we come to Mediacom, i switched the cable/internet to my name because it'll save us about $100 a month, no problem. So, I brought the equipment in to exchange it and that's where it begins. First it took about 45min to do because some had put in an order on her account from from Molly somebody we've never heard of and it froze it. Then when I finally got the equipment home and hooked up the tech support hell to get the internet working began. First nothing would work, I called and after diddling around she told me to call the router company. They didn't do crap because they wanted to either charge me for the call or sell me a new router. I finally decided to hook my laptop right to the modem with the DSL cable I ran through my basement and up through the floor, and that didn't work either. I proceded to call media-com again. She reset the thing and got it working. At this point I tried the router again, Eenope, no dice. She proceeded to transfer to transfer to the "Tech Experts" who want $60 just to help me fix my router. I hung up on them, hardlined my laptop back in to the modem. So now I sit here with no connection on my Xbox360 or desktop until I can get Marks help. And it was 100+ Degrees the whole damn tim Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Razor Knuckles on July 03, 2012, 09:03:09 PM Shit if thats the worst thing thats happened to you in a day than I'd say life is good. I've had some really bad things happen that would make your day look pleasant. Although admittedly it sucks, if it makes you feel better if I recall my roommate in college had this book which I cant remember the exact name of but I think it was called "Somebodies having a worse day than you are" I really can't remember the exact name of it. It had alot of short stories of REALLY bad things that have ruined peoples day. If you can find it buy it it will make everyday seem sooooo much better. Great to read while you're shitting on the toilet! I'm gonna try to find that book now...
Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Antimind on July 03, 2012, 11:15:02 PM That's def a shitty day but not truly bad. I thought my day was pretty bad until a few hours ago. I woke up this morning and the only thing to eat in the house was 1 hotdog. Payday isn't until Friday so you can imagine my panic. This afternoon I started to feel sickish due to hunger. Decided to go to sleep though I wasn't tired because I couldn't handle staying awake and feeling like that. Woke up to find my husband managed to bring us each home a sandwich from work. Guess his boss let him staff charge it. Mind you, there's nothing to eat atm but I imagine tomorrow we'll get something somehow. See? Not so bad after all.
Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: GameboyGeek on July 04, 2012, 11:21:58 PM That truly isn't that bad of a day. Just think of all the children in the world that have not eaten today, or are being tortured by asshole parents. Think of some poor family being shot up by a drive by in a crumby neighborhood. Realize that these things happen to people everyday. Think of that for a moment and you should realize that your bad day would have been the best day for somebody like I described. I know it can be frustrating for sure, but seriously quit freakin' whining.
Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Cryptid Collector on July 05, 2012, 07:48:51 PM I'm well aware people have worse days than me guys, I'm not trying to say "omg leik my life suks" I'm just venting.
Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Razor Knuckles on July 05, 2012, 08:03:31 PM Haha. Sorry, shitty days happen, we understand. Don't you just hate it when you have one bad thing after another in a short period of time? It happens to the best of us.

I've got my own set of stories to shame people with, but decided not to get into a pissing match about it. Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: GameboyGeek on July 05, 2012, 09:17:24 PM I still do not see a legit reason for "venting". I'm not being mean, but look at it from a different perspective for a moment. Is it really that much of a big deal if your internet is not hooked up for a while?

That's the only problem you find with my day? Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Razor Knuckles on July 05, 2012, 09:38:16 PM We all find bad things in our life, I am one of those weirdos that can say that good things can come out of bad things. They really can... A lesson learned in life.

I'm not being mean, but look at it from a different perspective for a moment. Is it really that much of a big deal if your internet is not hooked up for a while? That would depend on what you use the internet for. If the internet is your only source of entertainment then fuck yes it's terrible. If life isn't amusing then what is the point? Personally I'd rather go without internet than without power. I've been without power for over a week more than once in my life. I can say with all honestly that it sucks. Aww, camping isn't that bad. Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: bombatomba on July 17, 2012, 07:31:48 AM Totally sucks, dude. I would be pissed too, but then again I'd likely just hand it to my wife. She's Appalachian-Irish. :)
This is NOT a dig at you, shoboni, but everytime I would complain about something like this a couple of co-workers would say (in harmony) "Whiiiiite peoples problems..." Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Razor Knuckles on July 21, 2012, 09:10:30 PM well I'm having a "bad" day myself. My girlfriend lost her job. And then I come home and find out my computer took a dump. I'm typing this on my Wii as my phone is becomming a POS online. But there are still many things I look forward to. Sometimes good things come out of bad things. I never had a "bad" day...
Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: blcklblskt on July 22, 2012, 11:51:01 AM How bad is your phone that the Wii is better? I used the Wii's browser once and went back to using an ancient PDA instead for a while because I hated the Wii's browser.
Title: Re: I had a HELL of a bad day. Post by: Razor Knuckles on July 22, 2012, 10:36:55 PM Well my phone is a 2G network phone. I don't care for the latest and greatest phones. All I need it to do is talk and text, thats it. It has an internet browser but its pretty bad and s only good for E-Mail and very basic web browsing. I never really cared for web browsing on a phone. But thats just me.
I haven't used the Wii's internet browser in... years. I was surprised how quickly it loaded basic web pages such as RF Generation. The flash player sucks and takes forever to play a video. But it still works OK. Other than my computer taking a dump , I had a friend come over and fix it for a six pack of beer because thats just how I roll. So now I can annoy all of you again. I just had the best day ever after a bad day. See good things can come out of bad things. |
