RF Generation Message Board

It probably depends greatly on the region that you live in, but I was wondering what collectors feel is the best or most accurate rarity guide.  I think that we can all universally agree that rarityguide.com is the worst so we don't need to mention it again.

The guide on NintendoAge.com gives separate rarity ratings for the cart, box, and manual, which is nice.

Are there any other good rarity guides out there?

I use Digital Press's guide exclusively. They have "lite lists" for most systems, which most people don't know even know they have: http://www.digitpress.com/lists/
These lists are compact, have checkboxes and print out very nicely. I printed out a set years ago and still carry them with me when I go hunting.

The Digital Press lists weren't updated with the online guide so there are some variations in Rarity (Scarcity in the online guide) callouts between the two. The lists are great but the online guide is more up to date, just don’t pay too much attention to the prices as even the guide hasn’t been updated in the past 3 or so years.

Atariage's is fine for what it covers but some games/variations are missing since it hasn't been updated for a while. Is there any guide out there that is actively updated?

What about Nintendo Age?

I go with Digital Press also. Seems to be the best for the things I look at.

i just won an auction for both digital press collectors guides today on ebay. i feel i know about all there is to know about a couple systems, but i believe this will help me expand into things like gb, gba, etc. and master my learnings of the rest!

I wouldn't mind picked them up at some point.  I've been to the store a few times and they have a few super beat up copies for sale but I want a nice set.

Yeah these are in pretty decent condition it looks like. No creases or folds on the covers. I did pay more than I thought I would (76.00) but since they're oop and were originally 20 each plus shipping, I can't complain too much. Plus, I really wanted them !

I generally use digitpress and nintendoage/segaage as a general guide. It's better to read the forums of the aforementioned websites as they can give you more information on what is really rare. It is also important to have a general idea of what are the IT games. (I.E. When MF Mike or AVGN reviews a game we see a price spike. (Guardian Legend))

If that's the case then AVGN should review Totally Rad.  I have 4 copies

having a ton of fun reading through these digital press guides. making little lists for myself and such. such good buys!
