Title: Cellphone battery
Post by: Izret101 on June 01, 2012, 03:41:46 PM
Need a replacement one.
Anyone have advice on where to get one cheaply that will be reliable?

I have never had to deal with replacing the battery for something tnat was not a regular AA or AAA, etc so any advice is appreciated.

Years ago my mom and I got replacement batteries from ebay (we had the same phones) and those replacements lasted longer than the originals did. I'm actually still using those batteries. I want to say they were like $10 each instead of the $100+ they wanted at the store.

Hmmm so i was dumb and forgot to mention it is a HTC HD7

As for store prices being outrageous that is always the case.
They want 30-35$s for a USB charger you can buy for 5$ elsewhere.

This site: http://www.ifixit.com/

You might have to dig around a bit, but they are totally geared towards fixing your own stuff. And I imagine this is the sort of question they would have a good answer to.

They have a guide on how to replace my SD card there :)

There are a bunch of batteries on amazon i just don't want to buy one and have it blow up in my phone. If i can get something with extended life i would definitely prefer it over another official battery since that only lasts 3-5 hours when playing games or using it heavily.

So if this one is 3500 mah shouldn't it hold a charge even longer? For 5.99.

I saw another one too that was a slightly fatter battery that came with a custom back plate to keep it in.
I think that one was 2000 mah.
I assume the higher the better though?

Higher means more capacity, but you will likely need a custom door/backing for anything larger than what your phone currently uses.
