Title: Uh oh! Motorola vs MS
Post by: Izret101 on May 23, 2012, 12:56:51 PM
http://www.trueachievements.com/n8900/us-judge-upholds-import-ban-on-xbox-360-slim.htm

Pretty sure i posted the original story about germany banning the sale of 360s because MS stole motorola technology.
This does not bode well for M$

Looks like MS will just have to pay a 7% licensing fee, which may hurt their bottom line for a short time, but I don't see it hurting them in the long run.

7.5% for each unsold console that was manufactured for the 4GB Slim and 250GB Slim consoles.
What'll happen for this? Microsoft will either A) Pay it or B) Release a new console that doesn't violate these patents, and recall all of the unsold ones.

I am pretty sure that % is not only for the unsold systems but is retroactive on all previously sold systems.
Slims have been out for over a year now.

It only counts for systems with embedded wireless, which is only the Slim models.

I had no idea Motorola was still around.
