This thread is meant to highlight Craigslist posts that are overpriced, poorly written, littered with spelling/grammatical errors, or just make you laugh or at the very least say "huh?".

Instead of posting a link to a craigslist post (which will eventually expire and no longer be funny) it would be best to post a screen capture.  This will also make browsing this thread much easier as you won't have to open multiple links.

Windows snap works very well for Windows 7 and SnapaShot (free) is a good option for XP users.

There's nothing except for cars and tickets for concerts that already happened on my local craigslist. The rare moment a game does appear on craigslist though, it usually is a good deal. I still can't get over the fact I nabbed a 1702 monitor for $5, the day after I dig out my dad's C64! (Maybe there should be a "Best of Craigslist thread? It would only get a post once a millennia though.  ;D) 

This is the first Saturn I've ever seen locally. And its a decent price. Disc only Dragon Force in there too. Too bad he thinks it plays carts though.

I believe that would be what they call a "library".

So she's rented the game from the library and is trying to sell it.  Just because it's temporarily in her possession doesn't mean she owns it or has the right to sell it.  If that's what she believes, then that by definition is a "stretch".

Is there anything more aggravating when you're hunting locally than answering a CL add, then finding out when you get to the seller house that she/he sold it to someone else?  I was going to be buying an original XBox Halo edition and quite a few games for $20, but the seller was too tweaked out to remember who else she gave her address to and insisted that she thought the kids that showed up were me.  I told her when I would be there and that I worked out of town.  People piss me off too many times.

People do that on mine too, for a while there was a "cutest baby" contest that came up in every search you did.

What's interesting is that another person listed a MK64 cart earlier today (though that one is still in VG condition) for the same price, so this person must think $25 is what it's worth regardless.

But it doesn't affect game-play whatsoever! Makes it just as good.

I have A first gen NES from 1985 in just about mint condtion. org it was the big pack, with 2 controllers and gun with maro and duckhunt . all cords power pak, 2 controllers the zap gun, and comes with 8 games, the orginal mario and duckhunt, Super mario 2 and super mario 3, DR mario, Ghosts & Goblins, snake rattle n roll, Solstice quest for demnos, & deadly towers are the games that come with it.

With duck hunt,, with this old tec, gun wont work with a LCD TV for duck hunt so I have a 21in normal TV to go with it

Grate for bringing back memorys or to get you kids in to the gameing age the right way =).. I have seen these systems go for 500$ on e-bay with no games at all. It's a clean system and works,, but of corse every now and then you got to give it the old school blow out =) 450$ OBO First come first serve.

If there is one thing I despise on for sale listings, it is when the seller won't take the time to proofread so they realize how big of an undereducated tool they appear to be, but have no problem using emoticons and other such crap.  And if you use words like memorys, condtion, and corse; what makes you think I would trust you to tell me the truth about what you saw on eBay?

That's nothing compared to the other 99% I see.  I live in the south, and some people legitimately think that's how you spell some words.  It's awful.  I've also ran across an ad that said:  NES with Maro 3, and Duckcunt/Super Smashed Bros.

Okay so I'm looking to either get rid of or consolidate my video game collection, hopefully by the first of the year. I've been collection for several years now and have toted my games along with me through a number of different living situations and before I move on from my current abode I'd like to lighten my load. [b[This list was compiled by me a few years back so by no means is it complete, but this should give you a rough idea of what I'm working with[/b]. As i said I'm open to consolidation or sale. If you've got some really outrageous "grails" i.e; Little Sampson (NES,) Panzer Dragoon saga (Sega Saturn) Earthbound (SNES) e.t.c I'm not really particular to what system their for just so long as their rare. Keep in mind though that if I'm trading I'll be looking to make out on the deal a little... As for my merch I can make no definitive guaranties. none of the items have been tested in several years though everything worked fine two or three years ago... Everything had been kept in plastic totes with news paper (to help absorb moisture,) for years, about two years back I replaced the news paper with silica bead bags and that's the way they've been kept since... Being that I am one of those people who likes to keep his collections on hand they've never been in storage! They've always been either in the closet or under the bed. Of course now it's a little bit of both hence this posting. I'd like to get rid of everything in one fell swoop so I give you forewarning any e-mails asking for specific items will be ignored. If your really that interested in something get a few buddies together and make me an offer! Again Trades are welcome but it'd better be some pretty amazing stuff, dollar Amt absolutely negotiable. i don't have a screenshot because there would be too many, but Usedvictoria (part of usedeverywhere) has gotten really bad for prices apparently. i did a quick search for N64 games and found someone selling 70 CIB games, $3600 for all, or individually and he had them all priced out. every single game was way beyond ebay prices...starcraft 64 for $150, goldeneye for $50, super mario 64 for $90, it was bad. then i went to another n64 seller and he had loose carts and none were less than $15, even the most common sports games. so i decided to browse through their selection instead of the search and it was nothing but current gen, and a little of last gen stuff. i saw the skyward sword nunchuk/soundtrack limited edition for $240 and decided it was time to shop elsewhere.

Concealed Carry means you are carrying concealed. Letting the whole world know is kinda the antithesis of that. A saying that goes with CC permits is "Don't ask, don't tell, don't show." This guy makes me think of having and in wall safe hidden behind a framed piece of art with a nearby sign which says, "Hidden safe behind picture."

On the other hand, carrying openly is often legal. If you do though, plan on being pestered by cops and possibly arrested even if you end up being in the right.

I don't mind people who flip things either, but it's more classy to do so on another site as to not make it obvious to the seller that you might have gotten one over on them. I resale games I pick up on CL on gaming sites or eBay, but with pinball machines, I'll resell them on CL though I also bought them from there after I've done a ton of work on them, not hours later. ^Yeah, the N64 listings aren't bad at all.  If I was still collecting N64, I would have picked up the games lot.  Fifa 98 is worth about $3-5 alone, so it would be a decent way to fill your collection, especially if you talk the guy down a few bucks.

$20 for an N64 is also a reasonable price, plus expansion paks go for $20 or more online during Christmas.

Oh, I misread that as $8 a piece XD. I'm not interesting in taking up space with sports anyway though(unless it's one of the very small handful of rare ones or cool bootlegs/unlicensed carts )

lol.  Although it's kind of surprising to me how common really good Atari deals are.  Systems with 50+ games for $40, stuff like that.

Considering what the average common game goes for, their would have to be some killer rarities in there for it to be worth that.

I have a couple of PS4 ads. The first one is from before it launched, and what a trustworthy deal this sounds like!

It's an epidemic with people buying them just to profit.  I've been seeing both PS4's and XBox Ones on my local CL (Southeast MO/St. Louis) going for around $600-$700.  The highest one so far I've seen was a PS4 that the idiot wanted $1600 for.  I just wanna slap each and every one of these greedy morons over and over until there's some sense literally knocked into them.

The trick is to email them saying you are  interested then give them each others numbers  and askin they contact you.

This Atari 2600 system works perfectly. I have just played It today, without any problems. All of the games have been played in the last couple of months, and work as well.

Lol that's awesome..and true at that.  People here are price gouging as well even the stores are joining in on the "fun" of over pricing.

Craigslist is bad in Denver and the metro area too, even Goodwill and other thrift stores want 7.99 for PS2/XBOX/GC games and prices "Retro" stuff individually based upon online prices. On some items they even take screenshots of EBay auctions, print them out, tape them to the item, and price it juuuuuuust under the EBay price.

i have no issue with ebay "prices", because they're typically not terrible except the odd one. it's when people price things locally and factor in shipping from online prices as part of their local price. like "but if you bought it online you would pay this much so at 50 cents less than ebay price + shipping it's still cheaper locally!". that's not how this works guys, especially when shipping to canada is at least $5-10 per game from most sellers now. the prices i have on my wanted list that i carry with me now don't include shipping, and while i do consider that myself on the train of thought that even a little bit above my listed prices would still be cheaper than online, i don't think sellers should be automatically including online shipping in their local prices.

Craigslist is an interesting place. Most of the video game sellers that decide to sell on there are the type of people who do not have any knowledge of sales because if they did, they'd be more likely to sell it on eBay. I'm sure my local Craigslist isn't a lot different from other peoples'. Mostly DS, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 games, priced much higher than most people are willing to pay. Very rarely do I see anything vintage but it's mostly stuff that I already have albeit priced decently.

Come for the games, but stay to let their condition obliterate your manhood/womanhood.....

Looks like everyone's selling their WiiU in anticipation for the Switch. In 8 months of constant monitoring the NH Craigslist, I've never seen one for sale. Suddenly there's multiple listings. All of them want way too much for their used system, of course. I'm not sure if this is the case elsewhere in the country, but in NH listings are priced higher than eBay and even, in some cases, retail prices.

Anyone else hate how pawn stores always use craigslist to advertise their over-priced games a lot of the time?

Near me, Craigslist is where the overpriced shops fish for people to buy games from.  Searching for games brings up nothing but "WE'LL BUY YOUR OLD GAMES!!!" ads.

I dunno, man.

A WiiU with a functioning tablet/gamepad is so expensive to come by I considered it a killer deal when I found a Deluxe Edition (the black 32GB one) for $160 locally. On Amazon you're licking to pay $220 even for one WITHOUT the pad and pretty close to $300 with it.

On a side not with overpriced Nintendo, I found this:
