Title: Top 100
Post by: Cobra on March 21, 2009, 07:03:18 PM
Some random feedback from me. Just wanted to say I miss the easier to access top 100 and bottom games list that use to be under features before they became simply bundled into the statistics. I mean I use to actually bother checking it back then.

Also, not sure if it is possible, but if all regions of the same game would add to the games overall score and effect its position in the top game list that would be really cool too.

They're still fairly easy to access. Just hit "Links" in the About section and you'll find them on the left. :)

Those lists aren't really accurate though. Gran Turismo 2 is on the "Bottom 25 games" list. :(

Haha I didn't know that, but once upon a time those links could be access from anywhere, even in the forum. It is a little tucked away now though. You can see what I mean, as I didn't even know there was those links. Plus it use to be Top 100.

The number of votes needed for a game to be on the list got upped because of too much unfair tanking. So yeah, that is the reason for that, not enough votes for other crap games.

Nah, it used to say Top 100, but really was a Top 50. I think I mentioned it a few months back and Tan changed it for me. :P

A while back now it really was a top 100. Can't remember the bottom games all that much if it was always 25 or not, but the top games was definitely 100.

Oh, I see.

It got changed somehow though, because when I mentioned that the list was saying "Top-100" but was a Top-50; it really was a Top-50. ;)

My guess is the link was the old text from back when it was a Top 100, so got updated to reflect the new Top 50.

Well yeah. It was still called the "Top-100" at the time (but was a Top-50 when you looked at it) so I asked for someone to change it. :)

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but the top 50 and bottom 25 are.... statistics. We took great pains to organize the pages appropriately, and with all the statistics we now have it doesn't seem fair to single out the top 50 and bottom 25 for it's own special page.

It's okay. I just wanted to put my feelings out there about it. I would say I am probably the minority on this anyway. I just use to find the top/bottom game lists one of my favourite parts of the site.

Just FYI, the top and bottom games lists require a certain number of reviews in order to be considered.  I think it may be 10.....   This was to make sure there was enough votes for the rating to be significant.  When we first did it, there were so few games with 10 or more ratings that some games were simultaneously on the top 50 and the bottom 25 :)   It should have gotten better over time...but if you're wondering why certain games aren't on the list, it's probably because they don't have enough votes yet.

That means vote for the games you have played people.
