Is this true? If so what are some ipmort games i should look into? Keep in mind that you have to play imports on a TV capable of supporting PAL or HDTV. :) Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: James on December 26, 2008, 09:52:20 PM From what I remember, the hardware of the PS3 and 360 is region free but it's up to the game developers to decide if they're going to put region locks on their games. I know that's true for the 360 but I'm not entirely sure about the PS3.
As for regional exclusives, I can't think of any. The main reason people in the UK import is because it's cheaper and they can get games earlier. Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: jackttt on December 26, 2008, 10:28:18 PM Yes PS3 is region free and region free is the only way to go,but the 360 isnt region free most of the games are region locked.
Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: Moriya Hanzo on December 26, 2008, 10:42:38 PM awesome, thanks guys for the help. Tan, i do have an HD-TV so all is good.
Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: Sirgin on December 27, 2008, 10:26:56 AM If there are regional exclusives on the PS3 (I have no idea) it'll probably be a couple of JPN-only games. I'd be surprised if Europe had any PS3 games that weren't released in North America. (With the only possibility I can think of being Soccer games, maybe)
Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: Moriya Hanzo on December 27, 2008, 01:24:26 PM Well i saw the Way of the Samurai 3 and Siren for the PS3 in JP. I am thinking about getting these too as it doesn't look like they will hit state side.

Honestly, I'd buy it on the store because it's a vote showing Sony to bring more of these types of games to America.Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: Moriya Hanzo on December 27, 2008, 08:45:50 PM Heard the import is actually better so i will import it.

Well you can import from asia.Sometimes they have english language as well. Its better than import the japanese version if you dont know japanese.By the way u may also like to import yakuza Kenzan its a good game,.I dont think its avialable in north america or europe. Title: Re: Region Free? Post by: Chainclaw on December 30, 2008, 07:19:22 PM The PS3 is not region free with PS2 and PS1 games. This is important to keep in mind if you plan on importing the system itself.
