Actually I was looking for Atari BINs, and that came up.  Some other board members (like Den and Antimind) have a bunch of these types of board games.

I have like 3 or 4 of them but I want more!!!

I've got extras of a few. Tetris, Pacman, Zaxxon, Frogger are ones I can remember off the top of my head. not all are complete though. if anyone is interested I can detail what's missing.

and that Centipede board game is very cool. i haven't playe it but it looks cool set up.

Frogger is missing the die and Pac Man is missing one of the plastic trays for holding marbles.

Except for Athena  |D.  God that is a horrible game.  I own it and the only reason I played it for any length of time is to figure out what the GD point of it is.

Well, it looks like I may have a problem on that Centipede board game that I won.  It's now been a month since I won and about 3 1/2 weeks since I paid and I still haven't received it.  The fun part is that the newbie seller is now NARUed.  I just sent him an email, and I'm hoping that he responds.  If not I have his address and he is only about a two hour drive from me.  >:-)

great deal Mega Man The Willy Wars alone is worth a 100 euros and for half the money I get it with a Megadrive 2 and 9 more carts (only 1 cart only). I am really happy with it.

It does seem that the best way to get rare games like that on Ebay is to look for them in a lot.  People always seem to over look four and five game lots.

btw, does anyone know what is supposed to be in Star Tropics?  I seem to remember there being some maps or something, but I can't remember.

Star Tropics has the letter you dip in water. I wasn't aware there was a map.
Mine doesn't have a map so i don't think there was one.
Although it is possible.

That's actually not a bad price.  IIRC, that is one of the rarest games for the Genesis and it usually ends over $50.

Sweet!  I love Rampart!  To this day that is still one of the only NES games that will still get all of my friends over for a game.

Extremely. The ones I already had I paid no more than like $3 for and most only $1, sealed at that.

You know, I've wanted to start collecting for the N-Gage but I don't want to spend $200 for a system I'm not going to play that much.  Maybe I'll just start buying the games for when I can get a cheap system.

Yeah, I lost one yesterday and 3 days ago though. The first time because firefox started to blabber about my password and the second time because the page took too long to load. Living on the edge is not without its risks.

I usually don't snipe, but I like to snipe manually as well.  I used sniping software for a while, but it just felt dirty and wrong.  I'll still use it if I know I wont be at a computer within a couple of hours of the auctions end, but I usually try to avoid them.

Here's one that's more of a bargin, Ultima boxed with hint book (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8165591076)  One of my very first RPG experiences on NES. I use to rent this one regularly back in the day. Never did really figure it all out.  Now maybe with the hint book I'll be able to beat it.  

Oh and here's one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5950444431) I was kind of disapointed in. :(  Auction describes them as 2" tall, I think maybe the Donkey Kong is closest to that, most are 1" or less. I was really blown away by how small they were. I expected small, but not that small!

Yeah I was really happy with the figures! Took me nearly an hour to get them all unwrapped. Seller had them individually wrapped & taped, and lots of packing peanuts. They were well packaged. Shipping was $38 though, but still not bad considering a couple figures would cost that much alone in the store.

@Arrr, do you have to get anymore rarish or expensive games to finish off your collection, or are they all commons?

I think I should be able to get the rest of the games for an average of below 20 pounds. If I'm patient enough I might get them all for less than 15, but maybe I won't bump into anything cheap and I'll have to fork over 40 pounds for certain games. There's really no telling.

I bought a few Famicom clones off eBay lately, including this laptop-type clone:

Even though it claims to be a PC-game console, I remember seeing one of these on the German eBay two years ago together with a Famicom cart, so I'm quite sure (and hope) that this is a Famicom clone.  I wonder if the screen is actually real or not - I believe it's fake, because the image on the screen is identical to that of the one that sold two years ago (from what I remember), so it's likely just a sticker.  The other thing that I'm curious about is the use of the mouse and keyboard, and possibly any cartridges that the system may have come with.  I'll post an update once I've checked it out (sent it to a family member in Germany, so will be a few weeks before I have my hands on it).

Thanks...I agree, these kinds of lesser-known items are usually much more interesting to see and talk about than a common NES game/etc.  It would be nice if someone would someday make a database for all of the Nintendo merchandise and collectibles out there.  I'm sure that there's a lot of this kinda stuff out there!

Probably more than its worth but it is in damn good condition and complete.

Sounds like a good idea, although I think adding data is much better, especially for in the long-run, because there's so much out there that all the pictures without data will be pretty chaotic.  When I made my NES database several years ago, I also added an entry with just pics of merchandise, etc...and before I knew it, there was so much stuff there that it was almost impossible to check if similar items had been added twice or not.  It would be cool to use a database interface similar to the one used on here but then something like "Nintendo Collectibles" as a system, and for each separate item a separate listing with publisher, item type, year of release, etc, and of course most importantly pictures! :D  Maybe even add retail value or something to make it more interesting ;)

It's funny how many variations are out there for these joysticks...I have quite a few boxed QS controllers and not a single "duplicate" box matches...the US boxes alone have licensed/unlicensed/varying product #s & titles/etc...I'd love to document these findings once the hardware lists are up and running ;)

Funny thing is that every US NES game I come across on the European eBays are R5+ games, and most of the time CIB MINT or sealed.  I wonder why? ;)  Funny thing with this auction is that the seller put it on under two listings while he only had one copy, so to avoid a negative, he immediately sent the game to me, told me I didn't have to pay for it, and gave me 2 positives for feedback. :)  I insisted on paying him though, since he sounded like a young kid...and I don't like ripping people off, especially kids.  ;)

TMNT:  Tournament Fighters - PAL version.  I passed this auction up twice, and decided to go for it the third time the seller listed it.  It's a bit much for a loose NES cartridge, especially since I already have the NTSC version, but I decided to take a gamble with this one, because I believe it is very rare.  The US version is an R6, and I feel as though the PAL version is an R8 or above.  I've done regular checks on all European eBays for a little over 3 months now, and this is the first one I've come across (and I've come across like 4+ PAL SE's in the meantime).  When I searched for it on google I can only find one guy who has a copy of it, and out of lots of different PAL NES lists, only one of them lists it as being released in Europe (without any other info).  I hope I managed to get a nice grail here ;)

First time I've seen it on the UK eBay...I'm pretty confident that this is the rarest PAL Codemasters game released in the UK.  This transaction was also the quickest international one I've ever had...I won the game last Thursday and received it in the mail yesterday, Monday (with a weekend in-between ;)).  Cartridge is also completely MINT :)

All cool controllers.  How many more do you need to have a complete set for the NES?

125+ controllers including variations.  Quite a lot to go ;)  As far as accessories as a whole (including carrying/storage cases/cleaning kits/etc), I still need 168+!!  Not to mention my current goal is to have them all in boxed or better condition, so I still need to either buy boxes/manuals or replace nearly half of my current collection with CIB counterparts ;)

The Odyssey 2 had its original styrofoam, manuals, books inside and looks like it's only been played a couple of times.

Here's a rare ebay win for me, I don't buy alot from ebay cause I hate paying shipping charges.  When I see auctions that are local I usually ask if I could pickup the items if I win and bid if they say yes I'd take anything video game related.  This seemed like a good deal, 11 5200 games for about $2.50 each 9 of them boxed.  So I went to pick them up today and the guy says he has some other stuff I can have if I want, he didn't think he could sell it. &n"sp;Of course I said yes.  The guy brings out a boxed 7800 and a boxed 5200 and gives them to me.  :o  The 7800 box is in great shape with just the 7800 inside, the 5200 box is a bit tattered, but included a 4 port 5200, the manual,  a bunch of 5200 overlays, a 2600 joystick, the bottom half of a telegame system keeper, a battery charger (not sure why that was in there?), the manual to Miner 2049er (one of the loose games in the auctions) and a 2600 Star Fox manual.  Neeless to say I still have a smile on my face.

Lately I've been buying a lot from the US...I've started asking for economy surface mail because shipping costs are making this an expensive habit ;)  eBay UK does have some rarities on there once in a while as well, but not as many as the US eBay (especially since a lot of Canadian controllers are available on the US eBay).

By the way, thanks for the tip on the videoblaster!!!  I still need that one and the one on eBay is in very nice condition..definitely gonna try and win it if the seller decides to ship to Belgium :)

Congrats on the complete collection!  I find the O2 to be a fun system to collect for!  All of the games seem so exciting!  I love that they all end in exclamation points!  The flip-open boxes, handle carts, the import possibilities, and the relatively small library give the O2 so much personality!  Did I mention I like exclamation points!  (That wasn't a typo; question marks are for sissies!)  Well, I'm off to play S.I.D. the Spellbinder!!!!  Exclamation point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I got my 5 Virtual Boy Games today (Galactic Pinball, Panic Bomber, Nester's Funky Bowling, Teleroboxer, and Mario Tennis).  I dont have any problems with the games but Im ticked off.

The shipping and handling was $10.  Pricey I thought but he said he was sending UPS ground and I really dont know their rates...I usually go through USPS.  Anyway I get them today in a bubble envelope through USPS Media Mail...Cost a whopping 1.52 to send to me.  

I know there are handling fees and all that, but over $8. I know I really dont have a realistic complaint but he should have told me he was going with a cheaper shipping company...and lowered the rate.

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do?  ???

Took me almost a month to pay...kinda forgot I sniped it with this crazy month and black friday and all.  Guy didn't care though, so whatever.  I think the Raiden Project is for PSX, not saturn.  So I may have also snagged a complete Raiden...won't find out for a while though, they ship Monday.

I don't know exactly how it is in the US, but I heard that when a buyer requests a refund from PayPal, the seller needs to provide the tracking number or something, otherwise the buyer gets the full refund...and IIRC from other forums, media mail in the US does not have a tracking number.  So what you could do is request a refund through PayPal and with a bit of luck you'll get a full refund.  If that works, I would just send some of the funds back to the seller and keep the difference in shipping.

been holding on to the money for it for a while .was starting to burn a hole in my pocket..glad  i waited ....Ill post a pic when i receive it...was the one that ended sunday...thought i might get it for 350.00 but someone bid me up to 510.00 in the last second....i must be crazy but im glad to get that one off my list....only one im missing now is cheetahmen 2  but since its not a licensed release i ll take my time trying to add it..the most i ever paid for a game was 90.00 dollars for glib...been lucky and got crazy climber,rubics cube,quadrun,qbert cubes coke wins,shuttle orbiter,death trap,for under 150.00 for all of them so shelling out the 500.00 doesnt hurt to bad unless my wife finds out then it will hurt really bad.

Thanks, yeah it was BIN.  It was listed as an auction, but I forgot about it and found it under my "watched" auctions that had ended...luckily nobody else bid on it :)  contacted the seller and he set up a BIN for me, really nice guy.  

You can always use www.freetranslation.com to translate auction descriptions, I use it for all of the foreign ones, and so far so good ;)  I also wanted to bid on that boxed mega controller auction, totally forgot about it until it was too late :(  First time I had seen one of those boxed, too.

I can't tell you exactly where I look, but you should always look in the miscellaneous categories....when you do find items there that don't belong, it can be assumed that the seller is either lazy or stupid, which at the same time increases the chance that the seller didn't write an adequate description to meet the search criteria of the veteran ebay buyers, hence the auction will be a sleeper, and you should be able to get the stuff for cheap...and once in a while a nice item pops up like that, and you got yourself a bargain ;)

finally got my complete copy of best of the best championship karate today was in excellent shape.I have to say im overwhelmed with joy finally getting it off my wanted list...of course now a dozen will probally show up on ebay

LOL I know what you mean  The way I look at it is the game can always be resold so its more of a investment.. If you go out for a dinner and movie you probally end up spending 50 to 100.00 dollars for a few hours of entertainment and a full belly.then have nothing to show for it

It is a little worn, but I have seen worse. For the most part, as long as  a box is intact and has no sticker tears and you can see the whole box, I am all good with it. Small creases and a bit of crushing dont bother me much.

True that, I guess you can always disassemble and flatten them to improve the visual appearance of crushed parts and creases ;)

I don't know about bloody content but from what I have seen the Japanese Pico releases seem a lot better than the US ones.  I have seen ones with Anime characters, and some with Ultra Man (I remember watching the TV show of that as a kid) and still others with add-on controllers like a space shuttle game that had like a shuttle cockpit as a controller.  It's still only Pico but from the looks of the games it must have had a better following in Japan.

And with that I think Bum-man knows more about the Pico then anyone outside of Sega.

That's cool, I guess the Japanese always get more stuff when it comes to games and accessories ;)  How well did the Pico do actually in the US?  Was it a failure like Nintendo's Virtual Boy or did it actually have some appeal to children?  

Not sure, I will say my kids like it.  Of course they out grow it pretty quick but from like 3 to 5 it's a hit.

It only had 20 games and it was released when the Genesis, Nomad, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Game Gear and maybe the Saturn was out. So what doe sthat say.... SEGA FLOODDDD!!!!!!

I won a large lot of manuals lately, probably one of my best scores on eBay...received them in the mail today, 50 lbs of manuals!  Just finished counting them, 590 total, split up in:

Nintendo:

Unfortunately no NES manuals, but still a great deal...cost me only 25 euro + 35 shipping!

I bought a bunch of PAL games with a few NTSC ones that I needed including a boxed Robodemons from Austria...turns out the box has a German copyright sticker on it, similar to the Impossible Mission II box that I bought from Germany...I wonder how many more unlicensed games were released in that region with a sticker like that ;)

Yes, but i didn't bother i played games i knew would be fun instead.

I have seen multiplayer played a little bit and heard it compared to the Metroid Prime 2 multiplayer and that was enough of a comparison for me.(Prime 2 has HORRID multyplayer IMO)

I want one of those. Did it come with a box and manual? Where did you get one? Was is a story demo?

I picked it up in a local thrift a year or so ago.  They had a Pico there too which was just a normal system but it had a metal bracket attached to the wire for the pen (I passed on that).  The Storyware wasn't priced so they charged me the price of a children's book for it, 33 cents  |D  I never been able to find out anything about it, but yeah my guess is it was used as an in store demo.

I was skeptical on this auction, because the seller didn't show anything other than the bindings. When I got the package today, everything was Gem Mint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like the PS2 version this is the only copy i have seen on eBay.

Commodore sold several versions of the Amiga in the US, but I don't think they sold as well here as they did there.  They did have a small niche market for video editing, for quite a while they were the only game in town.  The hardware required was pretty high priced so it was a small market, but I bet every local cable station in the country used one.  I've got a couple of 500's, a 1200, 2000, and a 2500.

The pic contains all the eBay stuff that I managed to fit into my suitcase after visiting my parents for Easter.  I get a lot of stuff from eBay wins shipped to my parents to save on shipping costs, so it's always nice when I visit them or they visit me, lots of new goodies ;)

There's a bunch of commons in there, but the best things are probably the CIB Asian Version games (Zelda, SMB, SMB 2), and the lot of SuperVision games (including a Famicom SuperVision cart...never knew those existed!).  A bunch of the Famicom pirates on the left are really cool as well, several 16 bit games hacked to play on the NES/Famicom, and a Mach Rider hack called Mario Rider = Mach Rider with a cheesy Mario head instead of the motorcycle helmet ;)  The converter with the FC SuperVision cart is also cool as it's a blatant Honey Bee ripoff...I knew they never made black converters, and I was reassured when I noticed the converter had Honey Boe written on it ;) Same honey bee logo and everything, though

The cib games are also nice, as the majority of them were unexpectedly MIB with the plastic bags and everything.  

I just picked up a Memerex VIS for 5 bucks plus 12 bucks shipping.  To bad I don't have any games for it, or a remote>  :-/ :-/  

Got this stuff in recently as well...the cib games are surprisingly as new in the inside with all inserts, etc.  Too bad Ghost Lion and Toki's boxes are completely sunfaded on the front ;)

Today, I got in 9 game.com games for 11 bucks.  The only thing that sucks is that 4 of the games were Sega Fighter Megamix and 2 were Monopoly.

Not bad, did that include shipping?

lol ya.  :)  Overall I paid $4.XX for it.  No instruction manual but oh well.  Metroid Prime doesn't fetch much on Ebay.  

Actually 10 sealed copies of Body Harvest for $30 SHIPPED.  I thought that was pretty awesome.   I'm gonna open one and play it since I don't have the game nor have I played it.  Then,  I think I'm gonna hold on to the rest of em until Christmas time then sell 5 for $30 shipped.  Then I'll hold on to the remaining 4 as long as possible.  I wonder how much they'd be worth in 20 years sealed!?

All I know of is a Donkey Kong one....although that one could've even been for the SNES and not N64 game.  

I have 5 or 6 of them, I remember the Hot Newz and the Sports one, I think there is a Zelda one and one for a Banjo title (not sure which of them) and a Pokemon.  Not a bad price for the ones you got.

I just remembered a VHS video game magazine, called the FUSE that I used to have.  It was from sometime in 1999 or 2000, and it wouldn't surprise me if it also had a bunch of N64 content on it.  Not sure how many volumes were produced, since the one that I had was the first one, and I don't remember ever hearing from them again, so it likely died off fast.

For $10 you did great!  Nice little system.  If you have a Game Crazy or EB near you, they sometimes have the games in stock...that's where I've gotten mine.  Game Crazy is more likely to have the NGPC games.

This came in the post today. I can't complain with the price, but there were a few problems I'm not bothered about. The Megadrive doesn't have the cover to the expansion slot, there's no metal plate to fix the Megadrive in place, and I think Desert Strike is probably a bootleg.

I've modified the Megadrive, so I'm not worried about not being able to trade it in. I already have Desert Strike, so a bootleg is an interesting addition to my collection.

That's cool, I didn't know that there were bootlegs for MegaDrive :)  Are there also multicarts available for them?
