Title: World Of Goo
Post by: hXd on October 28, 2008, 11:02:42 PM
If you're a Wii or PC owner, you need this game. For serious.

It's quite possibly one of the most brilliant games I've played in a while. I could even go as far to say that this is the Tetris of the current generation.

Additionally, it has one of the best music scores I've ever heard in a game.

Yeah, it looks cool, reminds me of Loco Roco a bit. :)

I think it even has some of that Oddworld sensibility to it. Man I loved those games.

I just got done playing the demo, and while it is a very fun game that I enjoyed thoroughly, I'm not spending $15 on a game that I can't physically have,

Oh, is it download-only? That's a shame. :(

As far as I know it's download-only for Wii, but I believe the PC version is physical.

The PC version is either or. It's out now on most PC download services, and the disc version is coming soon. It got delayed for some odd reason. Here's a link to order it at Amazon:

I'll probably just get the game on Steam since I like having all my games on there and I want the achievements...unless the retail copy can be redeemed on Steam.

Well, if there can be a physical PC version then there can be a physical Wii version eventually? If there is I would buy it, even it added $5 to the price.

Well, remember it was made by just two guys, so I don't know that a disc version of the Wii game will happen right away. They have yet to get it on Mac and Linux, which is one of their goals.

Is there a big Mac/Linux audience waiting to get this game? Especially that last one; seems a bit odd to make a game for Linux.

If there will be a physical PC version, then that's what I'm getting. ;)

Pretty sweet, but I quickly grew disinterested. Brilliant as it is, it just reminds me of a flash game with prettier music.

But it did evolve out of a flash game, Tower of Goo. :D

That's how I felt about the demo. :( Why pay $20 on something when there are very similar games for free that you can be bored with?

The first chapter is nothing compared to the rest of the game. The first chapter has the really simple stuff, the later chapters are much more imaginative and require some thought/strategy.
It's worth the $15/20.

Yeah Chapter 2 itself blows everything from Chapter 1 out of the water.

Did you end up going for the PC version?

I got the Wii version this morning. Kinda bummed that I didn't get the $5 PC version instead now :)

I do enjoy the game though. I've almost completed chapter 1 already, and am anxious to move on to the "better" stages.
