Post by: Moriya Hanzo on October 24, 2008, 11:10:32 AM

Sega Genesis adapter will work, yes there is another adapter for the cd-rom.

Pic of NEC Power Supply.  The sega genesis power supply is the model 2, 3 brick.

What kind of video out cable would work for the TG-16?

I think the SMS/Gen 1 a/v cable works.

Not an A/V cable, logical.  To get A/V (composite video) on a TG16 you'd need a TurboBooster and just some standard composite cables to run from the Booster to the TV.

Now, for RF boxes, I hear a NES/SNES RF box will work.  I could go try right now but I forget where I put my SNES's RF box after I got a composite cable for it...

A/V means any kind of Audio/Visual, not just RCA (composite) connections. ;)

Sorry.  I've lived in a world where A/V means strictly composite.  :/
(Seeing as most of the TVs I've played games on in my short life have called their composite inputs AV1 and the likes and many people have used A/V as a shortened way to mean composite compared to RF)

Either way, NES/SNES RF box.  I don't believe a Genesis/SMS one would work, because those have the 8-pin plug on the end for going into the Gen/SMS.  The TG16 has just a little round input for plugging the RF box in, which is exactly like the ones on the NES/SNES.

Your thinking of the Genesis 1/SMS composite jack which is an 8-pin plug similar to the VIC-20.

The RF jack of the Genesis 1/SMS is the same standard female RCA styled one used with the TG16/NES/SNES and the same RF adapter can work for all 5 systems.

Actually, I got the controller port confused between the two. :P

The SMS/Gen1 Composite A/V is almost exactly the same as the controller port, so yeah...
