Title: Master System/Oddyssey 2 Question
Post by: blcklblskt on October 04, 2008, 09:52:46 PM
Hey guys, in my recent flea market/garage sale expedition, I got a HUGE haul of stuff (I'll post it later.  Sorry for the suspense, I want to get pics up ;D).  During that journey,  I acquired a Master System (Hey, there's part of my haul  :P), but it came with a Jaguar AC Tap.  I was wondering if anyone knew which way the polarity is on the AC Tap for the MS?

Also, my dad decided to sell me the Oddyssey 2 he got like 2 weeks ago.  Anyone know the polarity of the tap for that?  Thanks guys

BTW:  The PS2 I got for $5 about 2 weeks ago works like a charm, and the PS I got for a quarter also works great ;D

Sega Master system is 9V DC 1.0A Negative Tip. That means you can use a Genesis Model 1 adapter (9V DC 1.2A Negative Tip), or an Atari Jaguar adapter (9V DC 1.2A Negative Tip) all interchangeably.

The O2 can be an odd one as it has three different adapters. here's a good guide:

It seems that my SMS controller port one is broken.  It reads all inputs from the controller except left and right.  I tested two player using Double Dragon, and the 2nd player port works.  I then switched the controllers, but it seems like that its still port onethat is broken; both controllers work on the second player.

Has this happened to anyone?  Is it possible to buy a new port

hmm, you could always unsolder the old one and solder a new one in...  :-\

Try simply re-soldering the old port first. Maybe some of the pins were dry soldered and no longer have a good connection.

Yes, try that first, then try mine. That can happen, you know...  ;) :)
