I've been on a bit of a modding kick lately (just modded both my 5200 and Colecovision last weekend), and I'd like to know if you've got any modded systems. Here's what I've got:

Atari 5200 (modded with S-video and composite, I also added a power jack to bypass the switchbox)
Atari 7800 (AV modded)
NES (disabled lockout chip)
AV Famicom (was modded by the previous owner so that it could use certain NES accessories like the Zapper)
SNES (removed the cartridge tabs from both my SNESes so they could play Super Famicom games)
Japanese SMS (replaced the original green power LED with a red one)
Genesis 2 (filed down the cart slot so that Japanese Mega Drive carts can fit)
PSX (mod chipped; this is the only reason why I still have it)
PC Engine Duo (was region modded by the guy I bought it from so I can play both American and Japanese HuCards)
Colecovision (AV modded; I also plan on modding it for component video)

I just can't bring myself to do that to a system. I even pulled the tabs out of a game genie to play imports, rather than do it to the SNES.

All I have is the NES region lockout disabled. I don't wanna deface my snes either, so yeah.

I have an av modded top loading NES and a region switch on my Saturn. I am not that into modded systems, but the saturn is a must.

Nothing major really, but one of my NES has a green power LED and a few more LEDs in the case so that it glows when powered on. I've also got the lockout disabled on almost all of my NES. 

I considered disabling the lockout chip on my NES but then decided I'd probably screw up and break the system.  That's as close as I've gotten to a modded system.

As soon as I get any consoles that only have RF video output, though, I'll probably have them AV modded so that I can use them with my hypothetic AV switcher that I'm going to buy eventually.

Break the system? You have to be stupid (and I MEAN STUPID) to break it during that mod. Try it, and you will be happy.

Yeah, the only thing you can break is the thing you are supposed to break. Just make sure you're certain you're disabling the correct chip/pin.

I haven't modded any of my systems. I'm not yet in that place where I feel the need to play import games or something. I'd also be a little scared to mess up a system aswell, while trying to mod it. :ninja:

Not really into imports, so none of my systems are modded except for some little things needed to keep the 32x running...I am interested in AV modding the Atari 2600 (Sears Video Arcade version) and intellivision if its possible

I modded one of my N64s.
It took a hammer, flat head screwdriver and a narrow sharp chisel.

I then used the sharp items to pound out the plastic region "lockout" piece in the cart slot.
Luckily the system still worked AND played my couple JAP games after the beating :)

I've added 50/60Hz and English/Japanese switches to my Mega Drive. Mainly just because I could. But then I picked up a few US games anyway.

I also cut the region pin on my NES because I bought Super Mario Bros. 3 which turned out to be the US version and wouldn't work.

As close as I've gotten to actually modding would be the Lockout ship on my NES and trying to get my SNES to play Japanese games.

SNES is it for me.  Everything else is got around with either a different system or external device.  Problem with mod chips for me is I'm fearfull of causing harm to what ever system I'd be modding.  I'd like to mod a few of my newer systems but for now, I've enough that will work without it.

I have a modded PSP. It's fantastic.

I have a region switch on my Saturn.  I got it so I could play the cheaper and easier to find Japanese version of The House of The Dead.

I've hard modded the original Xbox to run evoX.  The homebrew for the system is rather lacking and is almost exclusively emulators.  That being said, the popular PC freeware DDR game, Stepmania was ported and is definitely worth the cost and effort of console modding if you're into DDR.  Additionally I punched a third IDE connector into the ribbon cable so I could have two hard drives (and the system's DVD drive, of course) connected at once.  Such as not to confuse the system (only two IDE devices can be supported at once), I made a switch that controlled the power to select only the HD I wished to use.  Also, a bigger, noisier, less efficient fan that doesn't even glow.  I should go back and change that one and do the IR mod.

Other mods include: adding LED lights to my Dreamcast and VMUs; controller/console cleaning, servicing and repair; saving a damaged Xbox (big bertha) controller with a frayed cord.  It now plugs into USB; and...

swapping the SATA drives from two Xbox 360 hard drive casings.  The grey and silver don't match the pea-green Halo 3 Xbox 360, so I swapped it with the stock (black and amber) casing.

I've never had a modded system though many times I have wanted one (PSP, Genesis etc) my new neo geo aes that is on the way has mods though-svideo, upgraded audio, and a debug bios. Might further upgrade to unibios

yeah, use to have a JP DC that i painted flat black with a blue LED. My wife had mistaken it for garbage and threw it out when we were about to move. It got mixed in with the broken DC's i had stashed in our closet.

Man, that really stinks.  Sorry to hear about the  DC.

I don't have any modded systems yet. I've been thinking of modding a spare genesis though.

I also have a blue Mega Drive 2 that I painted but I only painted it because it was broken and then I broke the other Mega Drive 2 that I was going to swap the internals with.

Why the red buttons?

Red buttons are standard on UK Mega Drive 2s. :) They make a nice contrast, anyway.

my xbox is softmodded, I guess that kinda counts.

That genesis is awesome! I might get my PS3 painted since its so banged up (scratches and scuffs on black paint) 360 looks ok in white and I'd rather update to a new model when this POS dies.

So yeah I still need to mod my genesis and paint my ps3. And while I'm at it I may further modify my neo geo aes.

I have modded my rock band drum kit quite a bit-first I made my kick pedal stronger and cool with metal instead of plastic and then I got drum silceners and blacked out the colors on the drums at the same time. And I just ordered a kit to add cymbals to :)

I just added S-video, composite video and audio jacks to my C64 so that I could avoid buying a special monitor cable.

I have a modded PSP, soft mod on the Xbox, mod chip in the Saturn to play burned copies, SNES game genie with tabs removed for SF games.
