Title: The Xbox 360 Achievements help thread...
Post by: phoenix1967 on September 11, 2008, 07:47:44 AM
Anyone having a particulary hard time getting an Achievement? This is the place to discuss it.

I'm down to the last 3 achievements on Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution:
1. Produce 200 resources in a city (production and food?).
2. Win with only 1 city.
3. Domination win on Deity.

#3 I think I can get through trial and error. The other 2 I'm having a hard time with. My latest attempt at possibly knocking out # 2 and 3 is using the Mongols, because the Barb huts you acquire don't count as new cities.

Anyone have advice on this?

What achievements have you been having trouble obtaining?

I got the Domination win on Deity! Used the Aztecs and won by 1960. 8)

I may have to search the web about how to get the last 2 achievements...

Got the "Win with 1-city" achievement on SMCR by using the internet-recommended method of the Beta Centauri Scenario using England.

The last achievement left is Curse of the Drinking Class (200 resources in 1 city: food and production).

Finally got the last achievement that I needed on SMCR last night. :insomnia:

Used America, Railroad to get to Iron Mine, Industrialization to get to Factory, and lastly...a switch to Communism in order to reach the 200 resources for 1 city achievement.

First time I've gotten 1000/1000 achievement points on a game. 8)

Now I can finally move on to something else.

Well done.

I've got 980 points on Viva Pinata. The last one I need is Play For 50 Hours. I think I left it at ~30. I can't leave it running by itself because I have a wireless controller which switches off after a while. I'm not going to buy a wired controller or Play And Charge kit just for this one achievement, so it's going to stay like that.

That's a pretty lame achievement if I may be honest. It doesn't require much skill either. It's more of a "put on your Xbox 360 for 50 hours straight and see if it lasts" thing. :P

I got 1000/1000 in Viva Pinata.  I was so addicted to that game at one point so I didn't even need to leave it on.  Now I am Level 108 :(

It's 50 hours in total. ;)

Oh lol, that's much easier.

The way you wrote it gave me the impression that it was 50 hours non-stop (with your explination about how the controller can't last that long...)

Hint - for any "play for XX hours" ones (with wireless controller):

Use a rubber band! Seriously. Hook it onto your controller so it's pulling the left stick in any direction. It works ;)

This is how you got your stealth super high in Morrowind. Just park yourself behind any NPC that didn't move and hold the sneak and walk buttons. I always used D batteries to hold them down.
