Title: Shall I... Post by: logical123 on September 08, 2008, 04:13:15 PM I feel that I am getting into more current gaming, but I really do want a car by not this summer, but next summer. So, what should I do? :P
Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: Sirgin on September 08, 2008, 04:17:37 PM If you want the car, I'd save for that. It's a win-win situation for the PS3 too, because you'll end up getting it later hence cheaper. :)
Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: NES_Rules on September 08, 2008, 04:18:41 PM I say you save for a car and keep on collecting. You've got a while before you need a car of your own, and the one you want isn't exactly expensive, so you shouldn't have much trouble saving for it.
The PS3 will always be there and will be cheaper by the time you get a car, too. Title: Re: Shall I... That is about 650 days, which means that I will have to save $3.85 everyday until then. Very doable, especially if I get a job this summer and on weekends. Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: phoenix1967 on September 08, 2008, 04:52:35 PM Keep just collecting. Unless you're in a desperate situation, there's no rush to get a car.
I notice that you're 14. Some things to take into account when you get your own car are insurance (VERY high for 1st time drivers), gas (obviously), and the maintenence costs of owning a vehicle like oil changes, brakes, tire rotations (and new tires), not to mention possible other unforeseen repairs, etc. Just keep collecting is my $.02 of advice based on personal experience. Good luck. 8) Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on September 08, 2008, 05:06:55 PM Save up and get a PC, that's where all the good games are.
Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: Fuyukaze on September 08, 2008, 06:17:04 PM Save for a car. It'll open up more options then just collecting or a PS3 ever would. Besides, those two will feed off the car, the car wont feed off those two.

Well if you put it that way, I would have to say you better get saving. Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on September 08, 2008, 08:50:34 PM You could just find a car for $250 like I did.

You could just find a car for $250 like I did. Yeah, the 2.5k is to cover the cost of a car + any small fixes/dealer/registration costs. I think my parents will pay insurance for the first year or so. I am aiming low though on a cost of a car. I saw a 93 Toyota Celica GT mint for $2,300 (Manual and 120k or so miles). That would be nice to have... Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: Haoie on September 09, 2008, 01:14:11 AM Car comes first. Games come later.
Really. Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: Ghost Soldier on September 09, 2008, 08:24:16 AM You'll need transport to buy games later on.

What type of car was that?Well, If I save every penny I get, I could probably have 2.5k in under a year and a half. We'll see... That's not as easy at it seems. Imagine not buying a single game for a year and a half. Not exactly easy for a collector :PTitle: Re: Shall I... I'll just ask my parents and relatives for games on my birthday and xmas. ;) Title: Re: Shall I... What type of car was that?1991 Honda Accord that this guy I vaguely know was replacing with a 1999 Honda Accord. Had 180,000 miles on it when I got it, 187k now and still running. I've put about $1,250 into it and $550 of that was to replace the God damned driver side door handle mechanism when it decided to stop working one day (apparently it was some ridiculous part that needed replacing and involved dismantling the seat and door--probably one of the priciest repairs possible on the car :P). Or so I've heard. Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: logical123 on September 11, 2008, 04:02:16 PM what is punani?
Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: Sirgin on September 11, 2008, 06:34:18 PM Cars get you teh punani. Riiiight :D ;)Two years ago in my senior year we went on a trip to Italy. When we were in Rome we (me and 2 other guys from my class) had this awesome bathroom which had this toilet with a gap in the front and a showerhead next to it... We kept calling it the punani wash....aaah good times :) Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: logical123 on September 11, 2008, 07:37:17 PM Oh... Duhhh... ;)
Let me guess... You took the train to Italy, right? Darn you Europeans and your awesome railway system!!! Title: Re: Shall I... Those were a great 2 weeks  Title: Re: Shall I... Post by: cyberfluxor on September 20, 2008, 10:40:28 PM A car comes first and keeping a safe amount of monies on the side is good incase it breaks on you. I bought a car 2 years ago and will have it paid off around the time I graduate this December. I plan to purchase a ~$2-3k truck for moving, hauling arcades around, and use as mode of convention transportation to take miles off my car. There are been times where I've passed on some nice stuff at stores due to the lack of transportation space in my car. :(
