Title: Day of the Tentacle Post by: Beardcore84 on July 28, 2008, 04:34:31 PM Wondering if anyone has this? Is there a way to play it on modern PCs? I love Maniac Mansion and am very interested in this game. Anyone have it? Play it? Love it or hate it?
Title: Re: Day of the Tentacle Post by: DuncanR2N on July 28, 2008, 09:47:52 PM DOTT is a great game. I highly recommend it if you can find a copy. If you do, you'll definitely want to go pull down the new engine for it at http://www.scummvm.org. It will run any of the old LucasArts adventure games natively in Windows.

Title: Re: Day of the Tentacle Post by: Beardcore84 on July 30, 2008, 09:25:10 PM So I'm clear...
If I buy DOTT, I can download a program the will allow it to run on my current computer? Title: Re: Day of the Tentacle Post by: DuncanR2N on July 30, 2008, 10:03:02 PM That is correct.
the SCUMMVM project has taken the source code for the SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) engine and ported the whole thing to windows. Any of the old LucasArts adventure games will run on it. LOOM Maniac Mansion Monkey Island 1,2,3 Sam 'n' Max Full Throttle The Dig Day of the Tentacle Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis And a bunch more beyond that. Just hit the link in my earlier post to go to their website and download SCUMMVM. Make sure you read the read me as you will need to setup some command line stuff to get each program to run. Title: Re: Day of the Tentacle Post by: Zerger on August 03, 2008, 12:18:00 PM SCUMM engine games are among my favourites for the PC, I'm not a big PC gamer but those games keep me coming back. Got them all and with the linked new engine everything runs fine, though i found many worked well without it anyway. Though I expect Vista would have its fair share of problems.
