Title: Fraud/Hoax/Scam Emails
Post by: Tan on July 11, 2008, 08:09:29 PM
We've been receiving reports of emails being sent to members that claim to be getting member information from the forum so they can pass along various financial opportunities. Some are even using RF Generation in their subject line.

Rest assured the only information available to members or guests alike is that which you choose to make public using your "account related settings" and "forum profile information". No different than any other forum or website that's open to the viewing public which includes unregistered members or guests. We place the highest priority on maintaining the privacy of members and protecting their account information and none of that info has been compromised now or in the past. RF Generation will never ask you to participate in any money scheme, nor do we condone the practice of these despicable individuals who try to take advantage of our open door policy.

Any official contact from RF Generation will always be done through our personal messaging system or from a known staff member using an RF Generation address. Feel free to PM any of the admins or staff if you have concerns or feedback. We apologize if this has caused any discomfort or inconvenience to any of our members.

Thank you,
The RF Generation Administration

All your accounts are belong to us.
  :paranoid:

Just kidding. :P Seriously though, if we find out any member is involved with creating these scams, they'll be banned back to the stone age. Nothing aggravates us more than people trying to take advantage of the great site we have or the friendly community that has been built over the last 4+ years.

I just banned a known spammer who just joined today and was looking through profiles alphabetically. Google searches can be amazing things. So if you get an email from someone with an addy like barati250parinaz @yahoo.ca ignore it.

A member for 16 minutes before they were banned, now that has to be a record of some kind. :P

Hmmm... Alphabetical Lists (Check!), Spammer Account (Check!), Being Banned in 16 Minutes flat (Check!). My work here is done. All I have to say to spammers is, "Get a real job, n00bz". Logical123 Out.
