Title: Kit Car Show 2008
Post by: James on May 05, 2008, 02:33:45 PM
I went to this year's Stoneleigh kit car show. I think I made a thread about it last year. It's supposedly the biggest kit car show in the world with thousands of owner's cars. Unfortunately, they must have either visited yesterday or been scared off by the awful weather this morning. There were surprisingly few owner's cars outside. I know from previous years that there have definitely been lots and lots of cars there. I spent the whole week worrying about the rain that we've had and even this morning it was soaking wet and raining. I ended up coming home with slight sun burn because it had cleared right up.

I ended up getting only 19 decent pictures out of about 140. The others are only "so so". The forum resizes images to 700 pixels wide, so these will look a bit choppy.

This car's tyres were a massive 13+ inches wide. They looked bigger in person, considering a family car's tyres are about half the size.

Westfield were selling rides in their cars, but at £10 for two small laps I passed.

There was a Mini in the paddocks, but it's not a kit car. I just like Minis.

Ultima GTR - The quickest production car before the Veyron, doing 0-60 in just under 2.8 seconds. They make kits but they also build enough themselves to be classed as a production car.

ZCars do engine conversions on normal Minis to make them super fast. They also make fibreglass bodies and aluminium chassis for a whole new car.
