I picked this up today. I found a sealed copy at St. Vincent DePaul for $3. When I added it to my collection I noticed it's listed as a Demo. It looks like a full game to me. What's the story on this thing? Was it a promotional game available only at Volvo dealerships or maybe the auto show?

Nice score! That's one of the hardest games for the Xbox to find. It is indeed a full game and given away at Volvo dealerships for a limited time. I believe there were only a few thousand of these made for distribution across North America.

I think many are under the impression that it is a demo because there is only like 3-4 cars and 2-3 stages or something like that. It's usually found for $20 or so used so you did well indeed. :)

I remember hearing something from a Volvo PR guy on some newsblog about this promotional game.  He preferred to have the undivided attention of a dedicated audience (even if only for an hour) than smearing advertisements over television that will bore the general public after numerous viewings.

Makes me think of the special Nissan 350Z edition of Gran Turismo 4.
