Title: Number of dsics
Post by: pepsidrinker on January 20, 2008, 09:49:51 PM
Hi,

I added some games that have more then one disc and the database doesn't display that. I seen the Christmas addition thread so I am letting you know in case it's a bug or something. I will post some examples.

Under a killing moon has 4 discs

Pandora Directive, The has 6 discs

I noticed that but didn't think to mention it, so it isn't just you. Medieval 2: Total War on the PC has two discs. When I submitted a bunch of info for the page, all the other stuff showed up but not number of discs.

The good news is the data is there (so people don't have to resubmit it!!)  It must just be an issue with how it's displayed.

I'm pretty sure that field isn't ready to be displayed yet. The information is there when you submit it, and one day it will be shown. I know sometimes it lists an odd number like"6" or something, that's just part of what is keeping that field from being displayed on the page. So continue to add "Media Quantity" when you fill out your contribution if you change/add info there, that way if/when that field is fully completed and ready, you'll be credited for what you've already done.  :)

Yeah, it is. I'm sure the black perl will take care of it.

I was wondering about the 6 in some games. I started replacing it with the right number, but I stopped because I thought maybe it was supposed to be like that. I'm glad that I was right in changing them.

All should be fixed now.

Is there any way to change the default number from a 6 to something else? Maybe just a zero? Or is it just up to us to change them manually?

The default should probably be blank or 1.  I'll let TraderJake figure that out since he's in charge of the submit scripts.

When I made a game addition and left media alone it had a 0, it was added as 0 media, example..

I don't know what will happen if it's blank but if anything but what is should be we should correct it?

By default the media quantity shows up as a 0 now, a quick page edit takes care of that. ;)

Alright, I updated it so that if the field it zero, it assumes the information is not known and doesn't show the quantity information.
