Title: Idea for database: Tracking Games Played
Post by: Ken B. on January 04, 2008, 05:22:39 PM
Hey all,

I had this idea in another thread and I was pointed here as the place to bring it up--

I would find it very useful if for games in your collection you could log "I played this game today" for it.  Maybe a little date/button feature where you could log what day you had played a particular game on.

Other hobbyist sites provide this functionality, such as www.boardgamegeek.com.  They allow you to track individual plays rather than just the date played. I don't think it would be useful to track number of times played for videogames, because that's muddy and harder to track, with not all games having a defined "begin and end" point for each play.

Then you could click a button in your profile and see your last played games by month, year, or all time.

Also, like the Top Console Games, you could also see "Top Played".

If anyone likes any of these ideas, feel free to steal them in whole or in part for design of the site.  If not, that's cool too.

That sounds like a pretty cool idea; perhaps TraderJake could take a look into this?

We're currently gaging interest and need:

Such an addition is only in preliminary discussions, so don't expect such an addition tomorrow, but yes, we are gaging interest.
