Title: my daughter is a Donkey Konga whiz!
Post by: den68 on October 19, 2004, 05:49:39 AM
I picked up Donkey Konga when it came out and my daughter has already cleared several songs. she is only 4 so I'm pretty impressed.

She beat the kiddy songs like the Campfire Medley but also some of the rock songs like We Will Rock You, Rock Lobster, Whip It and Wild Thing. She's really starting to grasp playing a lot of games. It won't be long before she's whippin my ass.

This is a pretty damn fun game. I still have a bunch of songs to clear in the chimp level and have only cleared Rock Lobster in the gorilla level so far.

I know Sauza has played this game, anyone else have it?

I've only cleared about half of the songs in chimp mode, mainly because of a lack of time.  Two of the hardest songs on that game are Oye Como Va and Wild Thing on gorilla.  I've almost completed Oye Como Va, but I routinley get over 60 misses on Wild Thing.  Some of the stuff they expect you to do is just insane!

I've only played the demo in stores.  I'll probably pick it up sometime after Christmas.

I played the demo in the store for awhile it was pretty fun. I will probably pick it up after Xmas too. It might go on sale or get a price drop...hopefully.
What i played was both pretty fun and kinda challenging.

We got it a few days after it came out. I've only played for a few hours but it's a pretty damn fun game and a great way to waste a few minutes here and there. My hands get sore from the clapping after a while though, anyone else have this problem?

Yeah.  Me and a couple other guys brought to a party a couple of weeks ago, and everyone was complaining about that.  I still think it's worth it though.

I read that slapping the side of the drum has the same effect as clapping FYI i don't know how much better that will be.

Pretty much any noise that the microphone picks up will be recorded as a clap (including whistling and yelling), but clapping fits into the rythym better.

I have to go out of  state this weekend. If i can get to a store this is probably going to be one of my purchases. I plan on spending a considerable amount of money because where i am going there is no sales tax.

I was out today and didn't see this in Walmart or Circuit City.
I ended up grabbing a set of Bongos though.
Is this game already getting hard to find?

No, if you go to a Gamestop or EB games they should have plenty.  I see a stack of them everytime I go out.

Will check GameStop around here.
I still think it is strange that all i saw in WalMart and CC were Bongos though.

I grabbed a copy today. Just started playing and it is pretty cool.

Also wanted to know is the game sold without bongos? Or is it always packaged?

To my knowledge it's always packaged.
