Title: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: JWKobayashi on October 10, 2007, 04:38:41 PM So, I got The Orange Box for 360 yesterday. Anyone planning on getting this / want to play Team Fortress 2 online?
BTW, even though Portal is short, it kicks much ass. Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Tondog on October 10, 2007, 05:00:18 PM Orange Box looks awesome, but I don't have a 360 or a good enough PC to run it, so I'll have to wait for the PS3 one if I want to try it.
Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Tynstar on October 10, 2007, 06:24:03 PM I have no idea what it is. I know Half Life 2 I think and some other stuff.

Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on October 10, 2007, 07:43:19 PM I might grab it. What's the price?
Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: JWKobayashi on October 10, 2007, 08:08:28 PM It's $60 on the 360. If you want it on the PC, get it at Circuit City, as they have it for $37.99 this week (normally $50).
I have no idea what it is. I know Half Life 2 I think and some other stuff. It has Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, Half Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Portal is probably the shortest game in the list, clocking in at around 6 or 7 hours. Team Fortress 2 is online multiplayer only, so YMMV. Great games though. Finally glad that I can play them (I'm not a big PC gamer). Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Tynstar on October 10, 2007, 10:25:22 PM I have heard of Half Life 2 and thats it. What are the Episode deals?
Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Tondog on October 10, 2007, 11:00:31 PM They are an episodic continuation of Half Life 2's storyline.

I'm going to think long and hard about this though I doubt I'll get it. I have best friends getting married (one's male, another female and known them for nearly 10 years now) within a month and I still need to get them a present. Plus I need to fund a bachelor's party. Man what a bad time for Orange to come out. :-/ Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: phoenix1967 on October 11, 2007, 09:55:32 AM Because of all it offers, I know I'll get it eventually. But I'm in no hurry now.
Imo, for all the hype surrounding Team Fortress 2, it's disappointing that it's only online, only 6 maps, and no free-for-all. Of all the games that are in the Orange Box, it's sadly the one I'm least likely to play since a) I don't know enough people that will be getting it and b) would be playing it online. Unless I get it over the holidays, I'm targeting $29.99 or less before I get this one. Too many other games ahead of it on my list now: Mass Effect, GH3, CoD4, Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, and VF5 for starters. Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: JWKobayashi on October 11, 2007, 10:41:02 AM I hear you on the 6 maps. It doesn't bother me that there is no free for all, but I'm thinking 6 maps might get old quickly.
I'm hoping that they'll put some up on the Marketplace... Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Samada on October 11, 2007, 03:43:29 PM I would have gotten it for my PC, but they f'n canceled the black box. I already own HL2 and HL2:Episode 1. I only really want Portal and Episode 2 (Team Fortress would be neat, but I wouldn't play it that much). On steam, Episode 2 is $30, Portal is $20, and TF is like $20. They basically screw over the fans that have all the episodes already.
But since it is $38 at CC, I might actually pick it up now. Too bad there isn't a CC in Las Cruces. Plus, what will I do with the extra HL2 and HL2:E1 that comes in it. Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Izret101 on October 11, 2007, 05:04:08 PM Try getting a price match garuntee at one of the stores in your area.
I've done it at BestBuy a few times when i found items at CCity cheaper. Title: Re: Anyone playing The Orange Box? Post by: Samada on October 11, 2007, 05:20:18 PM But I doubt they will price match if there isn't that store nearby. Maybe I'll try.
