Title: Images needing to be moved
Post by: Pop Culture Portal on September 29, 2007, 09:50:33 AM
EDIT: Much in the same manner as the duplicates thread, this one is for posting images that need to be moved or deleted. Please keep all of these posts in this thread so those who fix them can find them all. ;)

Thank you,
Keith

Resolved posts will be deleted after one month to keep this thread in good order. -TJ

Please remove all "Extra Media" images from this entry except for "Power Adapter". As I now have a scanner I would like to submit higher quality versions of those images. Thanks.

Thanks for clearing these images, but now none of the action shots show. When I go to re-upload the action shots again the link is green (not red), so are the action shots #5-9 still there somewhere, just not showing. I didn't re-upload, should I?

Don't trust the color - it's busted right now for screenshots and hardware. It sounds like there may be a bug with the removal of screenshots for Action Shots, in which it removed all of them.

Yeah, that's a variant. It's a Made in Mexico variant, and the manual goes with it. The original release would not have had the M/ or U/ portion on it.

Here's a fairly in-depth one:

Tetris (Game Boy):
http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-037-S-04620-A

Color Variation manual likely belongs to the Million Choice seller. However, this link shows a -6 manual for the Million Choice Seller, which we don't have scans for yet:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Game-Boy-Tetris-1-2-CIB-Complete-Box-/290718256946?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item43b0288f32#ht_8949wt_1344

In any case, the -2 manual doesn't belong with the Million Choice seller, and should be moved to Extra Media for the original entry.

Also, it appears that the -1 manual belongs to the System Bundle.

If I'm not mistaken, the "Rated E" variant's manual matches up with the part number.

The "Rated K-A" variant you linked to on ebay also has a part number matching the cartridge.

The manual is on the right page.

Here's a K-A Player's Choice version with the -1 manual:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-N64-Mario-Kart-64-W-Box-Manual-/320968400754?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item4abb351f72#ht_500wt_1361

Yet, here's a Yellow -1 manual:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mario-Kart-64-Nintendo-64-1997-/290765673993?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item43b2fc1609#ht_500wt_1361

If you notice, the Yellow one has a U/ Part #, which means that the cartridge and box were likely Made in Mexico. Possibly a different print run.

and here i thought the n64 was immune to complex variants besides the differently coloured carts lol. i've been thinking for a while about whether or not i'll get all the player's choice variants after getting all the regular versions. do you know if this is common to have both an artwork and a yellow manual cover for the player's choice n64 games? even though i don't normally care a whole lot about really obscure variants like part numbers, i still like my CIB sets to have all the proper matching parts if possible.

also sorry for getting off topic

Title: Re: Images needing to be moved
Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on August 24, 2012, 06:05:13 PM
Early Player's Choice variants didn't even have the seal - just the box change. Later on, the cartridges were updated. blck would have more information on that, as we took a week and investigated the rumored full list of PC variants, but I don't know if there were more variants than just the base ones.

Title: Re: Images needing to be moved
Post by: techwizard on August 24, 2012, 11:29:19 PM
wow, if earlier ones didn't have changed cartridges how do you know which version the cart belongs to? or are they identical even down to the model number?

Title: Re: Images needing to be moved

Super Mario Sunshine NFR Variant has the incorrect image scans. It is listed as a US variant but has the Canadian NFR front and back cover. Some of the other information may also be for the Canadian Version. Perhaps it would be easiest to simply change the region since there currently is no Canadian NFR variant in the database.

http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-076-S-02802-A

Also, Chicken Little scans are for the "Free Movie Ticket" variant (currently not in database).

Also, you should check out the Metroid Prime section. I added a new variant there.

The US NFR was a console pack-in I believe. I'm not 100% sure about the Canadian version, but I'm pretty sure it was as well.

wow, if earlier ones didn't have changed cartridges how do you know which version the cart belongs to? or are they identical even down to the model number?

It depends, as there were a few different ways Nintendo went about producing Players Choice carts.  For example:

http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-064-S-02630-A

Is the original release of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. The original copies were released in a black cartridge.

http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-064-S-02631-A

Is the Players Choice release of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.  These came in grey carts, but didn't have the Players Choice logo on the game.  Even the Players Choice logo itself was only a sticker on the box itself.  I guess they didn't want to reprint boxes with the PC logo already on the box.  Confusing enough?  Wait, there is more.

Other Players Choice games, like Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside had the original release:
http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-064-S-01140-A

And it also had a Players Choice release: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-064-S-01141-A.  Notice the lack of scans on the PC release?  The cartridge was the same for both (maybe minute board differences, I haven't checked), as was the box itself.  I haven't seen the manual yet, but the only way to tell if you have a PC version of this game is to have the game sealed.  The Players Choice logo was a sticker on the outside of the seal of the game itself.  There are a few games like this.

And then there are the colored cartridges like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, Hydro Thunder, Rally Challenge 2000, etc., that were initially released in a colored variant.  Later print runs had the games in grey cartridges, but AFAIK, there is no box difference (maybe a copyright difference?).

I find it all extremely interesting, but damn if it isn't annoying at times.

Need to know anything else?  ;D

at the moment no LOL but now i know who to ask for any n64 questions. like i said i haven't decided if i'll be collecting the PC variants after the original releases, but it's nice to have info like this anyway just to know what the original release should/shouldn't have as much as knowing it for the PC versions.

How is it still possible that in 2013 (ok, 2012) people are still able to submit games without either Part Nr or UPC?!? Not to mention there's hardly anything on that page at all...

Seriously, we should consider making it a requisite to have atleast either Part Nr or UPC. I thought it had been that way for ages, but I guess not?

Meh, lazy excuses. Besides, it could be enforced for modern consoles...such as the PS3, 360, Wii, etc... I'm not talking of ancient carts here. The game in question was Borderlands 2 on the 360. Most people will have the boxes of their modern games.

The US version of the Samurai Shodown! 2 for Neo Geo Pocket cart scan appears to be the UK cart scan. The US version I believe is to have a ESRB rating symbol on it. I recomend it be moved to the UK version because its a clearer scan.

US version

UK version
http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=E-070-S-00340-A

Heres an ebay listing displaying the proper US cart.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samurai-Shodown-2-NeoGeo-Pocket-Color-1999-Complete-in-Box-CIB-/251348696790

I think may be the same issue with King of Fighters R-2. I believe all the US versions had ESRB on the cart.

The front cover image on this one Daiya no Kuni no Alice: Wonderful Mirror World (J-095-S-12970-A) is supposed to be on this one Daiya no Kuni no Alice: Wonderful Wonder World (J-095-S-12870-A).  I accidently picked the wrong one when I submitted the image.  Sorry about that still getting use to the system.

The system's not exactly the easiest to get used to. If you do Submit Images off the entry itself, you can't go wrong as long as you DON'T navigate back to the image selection - I'd suggest clicking on the Submit Images button again.

going through all my submissions thus far i realize i got my two copies of Kid Icarus mixed up here, that's actually the back label for an EU release. since it's in the 'extra media' category i guess removing the link won't be enough to get it deleted from the datebase.
sorry about that. gotta lotta scans to juggle and obviously i must've named them too similarly. i'll make sure to be more diligent in the future.

it's uploaded to both E-027-S-00200-A and U-027-S-03400-B, but it's only appropriate for the first one (EU).

EDIT Nov 22: it's Extra Media Scan #00 that's incorrect, Extra Media Scan #01 with REV-A on the back label is uploaded correctly.

the manual and extras "Parental Information" and "Operations Guide (English)" submitted to entry E-202-H-00011-A belongs to entry E-182-H-00024-A.

Images (including Hardware and Extra Media) need to be moved to the correct variant:
http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=U-131-H-00455-B

Also, if someone could take the time to properly document/confirm the first link, which I BELIEVE is the image below, it would be appreciated:

TL;DR: We need to have Bundled Accessories available on the submission page for Hardware. The bundles are hard to keep up with and get confusing.

I believe your belief is correct.  God of War III never had a specific console bundle (neither did Collection) so I'm assuming that this console is a black friday bundle, which is probably why I'm having a hard time finding pictures of it.

The member who added it, Joeph, has marked in his comments that his console doesn't have Collection, which makes your picture seem even more plausible because Collection never had its' own console bundle.

Let me know what you think and I'll add in the bundled accessories 'n such.

Dead or Alive 2 (PS2) UK (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=E-072-S-00620-A)

I submitted some extra media for this but found out that one of my scans had gone awry converting it to .jpg format.  The submission labeled as "Advertising leaflet (rear) - Memory Card" should be rejected (or removed if already accepted).  The other two extra media scans should be okay.

The preview thumbnails are flipped. The image when opened displays correctly. Confused me.

the images for uncharted 2 GOTY original release have a couple that are for the greatest hits release of that GOTY edition.

specifically the case front and game scans are incorrect.

Can someone remove Disc 2 and 3 extra media scans for this entry of Diablo II:

http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=E-016-S-03171-A

I own it myself and the discs images currently on there are from a different release (although I cant find any release with those exact discs).

And yes, I have checked my copy has the right discs. Will upload the images when the previous ones have been removed to avoid confusion.

Can't be as bad as UK PC Morrowind. I found 9 variants of that, not counting the 2 expansions (which thankfully only seem to have 1 release each).

Amiibo: Super Smash Bros.: Dr. Mario

European version: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=E-999-H-02350-A
North American version: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=U-999-H-06230-A
Japanese version: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=J-999-H-00690-A

Hardware Shot 5 needs to be removed from each.  Scan of underside from base is from Little Mac amiibo, not Dr. Mario (as identifiable by serial number).

EDIT:
Amiibo: Super Smash Bros.: Olimar
European: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=E-999-H-02360-A
Japanese: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=J-999-H-00680-A
American: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=U-999-H-06240-A

Hardware Shot 5 for all 3 needs to be removed as well.  Again, scan of underside is of Little Mac amiibo, not Olimar (as identifiable by serial number).  I am guessing that most amiibo entries will have this problem.

For future reference for anyone submitting amiibo images, the underside of bases are not identical for all models in the same series.  The serial code on the underside can be used to identify the amiibo model.

For the Sears Tele-Games release Baseball for the 2600, some (maybe all) pictures on the 6-99819 release are of the 49-75125 release.  The cartridge and the manual have the 49-75125 numbers on them.  I would think that if the same person uploaded the box pictures also then those scans would also be of the 49-75125 release.  There are no pictures for the 49-75125 release so those incorrect pictures should be moved to the correct variation.

That's because it's too large. I think he's saying it's too small.

We prevent, I think, larger than 576 on the short side. We can certainly prevent smaller than 550px on the "short" side, though that basically removed the ability for people to upload camera pictures. We had something that would scale the images to 550px automatically, but the codec on it was terrible. Perhaps we should revisit that now...

The hardware shot I uploaded (and got approved (http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=E-075-H-00130-A;image=hw;number=00)) was 560px on the short side. I was tired and forgot to scale it down.

I go by the guide here:
Quote from: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/about.php?action=policies;id=4
All scans must be in the JPG format.  As a general rule, all scans should be 550 pixels on the SHORT SIDE.  Thus, the other dimension will be greater than 550 pixels.  Just set the short side (height of a Genesis cart, width of an NES box, height of a CD case, etc) to 550 pixels and let your photo editor adjust the other side to scale.

Regarding LTTP -  all three versions (Bandai, Nintendo, THE) use the same SNSP-ZL-UKV cart as far as I can tell, so you can use the game image for all three.

At the risk of being dogpiled by the North American NES collectors, I think there's an issue with Super Mario Bros. 3:

Super Mario Bros. 3 (USA, original release): http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-027-S-06330-A

The box images seem to be for the rerelease (NES-UM-USA-1) and not the original.  This can be identified by the positioning of the abbreviation, "Bros." in the title logo.  The original release has "Bros." positioned to the left hand side whereas the rerelease has it positioned to the right hand side next to the giant "3".  Trivia on the rerelease's entry suggests that there was only one US box for both versions, but eBay searches show that this is not the case:

 • Mismatched manual, original box, original cart (http://"http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Super-Mario-Bros-3-Nintendo-NES-Video-Game-NTSC-Boxed-Complete-CIB-Tested-Works-/391740456374?hash=item5b358cfdb6:g:tAQAAOSwWxNYp-F1")
 • Mismatched manual, original box & cart (http://"http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Super-Mario-Bros-3-Nintendo-NES-Game-Complete-CIB-/162164462447?hash=item25c1c1536f:g:jxYAAOSwawpXqqGa")
 • VGA graded sealed (http://"http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Super-Mario-Bros-3-Nintendo-NES-New-Sealed-VGA-75-1st-Print-Alternate-Game-Art-/172506965113?hash=item282a376479:g:5tUAAOSw44BYjqH~")

Mix up with PC releases of Thexder

Thexder (US, Dual Media Format): http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-016-S-17690-A
-Game and Manual scans need to be deleted because they are for the 1995 CD-ROM version, not the 3.5/5.25 disk versions
-Move Extra media images to Thexder [1995] (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-016-S-17690-B) because they are better than the current extra media scans for Thexder [1995].

Thexder [1995]: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-016-S-17690-B
-Remove current extra media scans for jewel case and replace with those from U-016-S-17690-A , as current extra media images do not meet guidelines for size (550px on the short side)

EDIT:
Also,

need to remove game image from http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-016-S-12490-A to http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-016-S-61780-A .  Image is of 3.5" Floppies in the 5.25" Floppy entry.

I Replace the game Image with one without the "-1" http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-027-S-07221-A&type=gs  (Did not have Box for Wayne Gretzky Game)

But now I'm wondering if I should have Changed it. Because I have check my collection and found that I have a box and game the Opposite way with  "-1" on BoxTab and Game without.  ( was the game http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-027-S-06590-B)  .    I had this game since I got it in box as a kid.  Box tab was "NES-2N USA-1" and the Game was "NES-2N-USA".

I'm New to the Site and I don't if you put in to the Collection DataBase Box and Game mix Part Numbers. I Know it would be very hard to prove that is how they were sold and not bought separate and put together the game and box  (or friend borrow it and switched it when your a kid).

The top entry is for the original release but the box scans are for a later rerelease.  There are three FAH variations of F-Zero (that I know of) - two distributed by Bandai and one by Nintendo.  Don't know much about the Nintendo Version (which is why I haven't added it yet) but I am positive that the aforementioned scans are from box SNSP-FZ-FAH-1.

The box front and back images from Basic Math (Numbered) http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-005-S-00380-A need to be moved to

Basic Math (Text Label) http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-005-S-00380-B

I cannot say for sure, but I would think the manual and cartridge scans need to be moved also since it looks like all the scans came from the same person.

Looks like the correct images to me. Here is an example: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/175679-fs-original-9-atari-2600-games-in-gatefold-boxes/

to this entry

This game has had at least 4 different releases (that I can tell): 1991, 1994, 1997 and 1998, and each has a different face design but all use the same part number and (I think) upc.

Can someone remove the back image from this Battlefield 1 entry: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-216-S-02770-A&type=bb

The DB entry is for the standard US release (according to the UPC it's this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Battlefield-1-Microsoft-Xbox-One-2016/254322316162?epid=222440539&hash=item3b36ca9382:g:dsIAAOSwYXFcvl7j) whereas the images submitted seem to correspond to a pan-North American pack-in version (no UPC, trilingual cover).

I was in the middle of rejecting this image but I took longer than 5mins and someone managed to slip in and approve it (I was writing a detailed comment).

EDIT: The part number is also from the same pack-in variant ( see https://www.ebay.com/itm/Battlefield-1-Microsoft-Xbox-One-2016/263915038779?epid=222440539&hash=item3d728fe83b:g:yJsAAOSwehJbjUL7 ).  I'm not sure whether this is the same number found on the US or Canadian releases because I couldn't find an X21 number on either version.

Hi, can the Extra Media "Black Cartridge Variation" image ( http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?type=ex&ID=U-015-S-01570-A&number=00 ) be moved to the actual game image on http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-015-S-01570-A ? The submission was replacing a jewel case back that should have been in extra media. I was going to move the scan anyway before accepting, but someone else accepted before I could do that.

This. The jewel case back was a bit of a fisheyed photo of the jewel case, so I'll find the jewel case amongst our stuff and get a proper scan.

They are for the Ballistic re-release clam shell version which was missing from the database (I added it: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-040-S-04800-B)

So I made a combined "Sega Classics Arcade Collection / Sherlock Holmes" entry for the Sega CD model 1 pack in as there were 2 separate entries but no combined one: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-048-S-01650-A

I linked the 2 separate ones in the related games field.

Now, for this entry (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-048-S-01130-A), can I get the Box Back moved to the Box Front?  The Box Front needs to go as the front of the Sherlock Holmes entry (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-048-S-01630-A).

I'm wondering if U-048-S-01130-A was actually meant to be the combo that included Sherlock Holmes as in the pics. Wasn't the separate 4-in-1 only included with CDX? Seems like we have a lot of users that have it listed as in their collections, and I can't imagine that many CDX version owners.

4 in 1 was the pack in with the original Model 1.  The 5 in 1 is what came with the CDX: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-048-S-01140-A

That 5 in 1 entry should really be another combination entry, or like the 4 in 1,  there should be a combination entry, an entry for the 5 in 1, and an entry for the Ecco disc

Please remove the second hardware shot here. I uploaded the manual on the wrong section.

Can we move the Front and Back images here to Extra Media? The Limited Edition came in a bigger cardboard box that should be uploaded as the Front and Back.

I made an oops.

The images here (front back hw): http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=U-076-H-01050-A
Belong on this item: http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=U-076-H-01010-A

can we move this image: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-031-S-01090-A&type=gs
to this entry: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-031-S-01090-B
the existing image on the latter entry that the move would clobber is a lower quality image.

With all the hype about "1st print NES" games and all that I found out about a variation in the 5-Screw Gold LOZ cart.  This is a variation in ™ vs. ® on both the box and the cart along with the ™ version having a unique manual that you can only tell the difference from the inside.  I have updated the existing 5-Screw entry to be "Gold 5-Screw TM" since the box images are for the correct ™ version.  However, the cart image is for the "®" version.  I have made a new entry for the "Gold 5-Screw ®" but I need the cart image moved to it.  I can upload the correct 5 screw "™" version of the cart once it is moved.  Please see the video I linked for more info if you are curious.

So,  the cart image here: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-027-S-03680-C

needs to be moved to here: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-027-S-03680-E

Why does this matter?  Well because people are paying stupid prices for absolute first print games and this is how you tell if you have an absolute fist print LOZ.

I know there is a backlog here but I should be doing some scanning tonight so if anyone can get at least this one fixed I can scan in the correct cart tonight.

I accidentally uploaded the warranty leaflet from the preceding game in the series here before realizing my mistake and submitting the correct one:
http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=E-215-S-07520-A

I could've just submitted an edit myself but maybe it's more appropriate to delete the first extra media entirely, since that has nothing to do with this release?

EDIT: Same with the top extra media here with nordic languages: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=E-240-S-00041-A

Moved to here: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-215-S-02621-A

I can upload the standard American images after that
I believe this should be the correct versions....
