Title: Game Variations Submission Problem
Post by: esquire on April 04, 2007, 07:55:14 PM
I've had problems submitting two game variations lately,

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - Limited Collector's Edition
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - Limited Special Edition

for each game, after I pulled up the exisitng game and entered in the info, I got errors, not because I left something out.

It seems to me that any variation with 3 words such as "Limited Collector's Edition" or "Limited Special Edition" was being rejected; however that was not the case when I submitted "Crash Superpack [Platinum Family Hits]"

Any idea what I could have been doing wrong?  Is there a character limitation?

BTW, I had to enter the above games as new entries with the full name on the entry line, rather than as a variation.

Hmm, I don't know what exactly you did or what went wrong, but I was able to add them in as variations, and you were credited appropriately.

Here is what is required to add a  regular variation:

You need to select "Submit Variation". The other option, "Submit Regional Variation" is for instances when a game is released in several different countries of a region, such as when there is a French release and UK release of Rayman. Submit Variation requires for games the variation title (such as Limited Editon or Greatest Hits, the Title is automatically filled out), and I think that is it. The other required fields are passed implicitly.
