Title: Superbowl / NFL discussion
Post by: captain_nintendo on January 23, 2007, 11:26:53 AM
Am I dreaming, or did the Colts finally beat the Pats? (I better go back to bed, because that must be some sort of drug induced dream)

I really had no doubt that the Bears would beat the Saints.

Who will win the big game? Does anybody really care?

Stay tuned for my answers. :P

I want the Colts to win. Bears fans are the worse when they win.

A man had 50 yard line tickets for the Bear's game. As he sits
down, a man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat
next to him.   "No," he says, "the seat is empty."

"This is incredible," said the ma n. "Wh o in their right mind
would have a seat like this for the Bears game, the biggest
sporting event in the world, and not use it?"

He says, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to
come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Bears
game we haven't been to together since we got married in 1967."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find
someone else -- a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take
the seat?"

The man shakes his head. "No, they're all at the funeral."

Indy will most likely win.
The quality of AFC teams seems to be a bit higher than the NFC teams.
The Bears are good, but had just about the easiest schedule out there.  They nearly lost to Arizona.
The Colts have an amazing offense, but strugle on defense.  They lost to Houston.
My vote goes to Indy. It should be a fun game.

I feel that if the same Bears team shows up that played the Saints, then it will be a great game.

Saints didn't stand a chance.  They are an indoor team from the south.  They played in below freezing conditions and on top of that it was snowing.  That was a huge advantage for the Bears.  (Much like the mile-high stadium advantage for the Broncos.)  The Saints were not acclimated to the weather, and that hurt them.

I hope the Bears win, but I don't know who is really better. From what I know, I see the Bears QB as a liability more than anything.

I'm not a huge football fan, but I grew up listing to my dad swearing everytime that the Bears lost (which was alot during my youth).  That, along with being about an hour from Chicago, means that I hope that the Bears win. :)

Colts win.....

It went down just as I had pictured it. Grossman  = bad mistakes / Colts = capitalize on those mistakes

Congrats to the Colts.... It has been a long time since that franchise has won a Superbowl.

^The K-Fed "Life comes at you fast" one was awesome.
Most companies try too hard to be funny, and it just doesn't work.

Yeah, the days of the good superbowl commercials seem to be over.

Too many politically correct and "safe" commercials this past year.

Did you know it was black history month? .........

I know, all I feel when I look at these commercials is false inequality trying to rear its ugly head. For votes or whatever it makes me sick.

No one cares anymore you jackasses! We're equal!

I mean hell, the sport's predominated by blacks. I can't imagine how boring it would be if it was predominately white.
