What a better week than this to feature World of Warcraft?  With the release of a new expansion, it is apparent to see how crazy the buzz is over this game.  The Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game started many, many moons ago, and have hit their stride in the past few years.  World of Warcraft is completely grasping their market by combining online elements with promotional items and even a collectible card game.  What are your feelings of this game?  Ever play it?  Want to play it?  Discuss!

would love love love to play this game. Warcraft 2 is one of my favorites games of all time. But I won't pay 15 a month to loose my life.

As far as WoW goes:
I made it out alive...

I have a feeling I will pick up Burning Crusade once the summer rolls around.

I'll hit 51 tomorrow...

The game of the future as far as I'm concerned.

I've never played, and I don't ever plan on playing it.  I'm sure it's a great game, but I also know how addicitive an MMORPG can be (I used to play UO back in the day).  I have played all of the Blizzard classics though when they hit stores, including the original Warcraft, and I loved them all.  I used to play Warcraft through a direct PC-link with my brothers!!!  Those were the days...when multiplayer/network gaming (and RTS) was just getting started :)

I'll pay for the software or I'll pay for the monthly service charge but paying 50 or more for the game, then a monthly charge to play it online (doesnt have an offline does it?) is not an option in my book.  yes, i'm missing out on the multi-player experience, but i'm a bit fond of the little money in my pocket, it's in no hurry to be spent on just one game.

This game looks great! I would probably love to play it, but right now I am addicted to Phantasy Star Universe. Before that, I was addicted to Phantasy Star Online. I am certain that if I started playing WoW, I would be addicted to WoW as well. :embarassed:

Oh, damn.  I thought everyone had a lvl 60 by now.  At least you didn't spend countless hours getting tier 3 only to have it become shit by level 63 or so...  (Not that I ever had a purple.)

For anyone who hasn't bought it because they are afraid they will get addicted - stay away.  I have bought plenty of games since I bought this back in June, but the only one I've really played outside of WoW is Guitar Hero 2.

It is the single biggest time sink I have ever seenin my life.

Oh yeah, and I should hit 61 the next time I play  ;D

Yeah I only started playing like last October and I've spent months messing around with PvP and just wandering around, (swam all the way around Kalimdor on one occasion).

It was probably silly to get bc already but eh, it was entertaining standing in line, and I can start a Blood Elf or Draeni and hang out in the new cities.

The Draeni city looks like something from Star Wars. Bit odd.

On another note I'm using WoW as my basis for a research paper in Ingrish 102. Should be interesting, found out, for instance, that more people play WoW than live in Australia.

I thought only 8 million people played WoW and there are 20 million in Australia. However, there are only 4 million people in New Zealand.

I'm gonna need the source on that.  I don't think WoW has over 20 million subscribers.

Thank you. It's hard to refrain... it looks pretty f'ing cool, but I can't afford to get addicted.... :)

I was thinking BC was a character at level 49. So never mind.

Haha, BC = Burning Crusade (the expansion). You can only enter the majority of new areas at level 58, which is why some have decided until they reach that point to purchase BC.

Just hit 51 today, woulda been last night but the server was lagged and when they reset it I fell asleep.
